  6. Bank of India - Kisan Credit Card
    • Kisan credit card is a basic credit card offered by Bank of India to the farmers of India that provides time based and suitable credit assistance for cultivation needs of the farmers. 
    • The core purpose of Bank of India credit card is to ensure flexibility and freedom in credit utilization by the farmers in India.
    • Kisan Credit Cards are issued to those farmers who are otherwise entitled to short term credit facility towards crop production and its allied activities as well as for non-farm activities. 
    • The card is sanctioned to the farmers who hail from the functional area of the Bank of India Branch.
    • The farmers availing Kisan credit card shall be provided a credit card-cum-passbook with the name & address of the farmer, along with the details of land holding, credit limits, validity period incorporated into the passbook itself.
    • All the transactions are recorded on passbook in an on-going basis and the card holding farmer needs to submit the passbook while transacting the account.
    • The anticipated incremental income of the farmer should be sufficient to repay any advance leaving adequate balance for farmer’s daily needs.
    • The credit limit sanctioned on the Bank of India credit card is derived based on the operational land holding of the farmer, pattern of cropping & scale of finance required.
    • Bank of India ensures that all recommendation of the District Level Technical Committee (DLTC) or State Level Technical Committee (SLTC) towards issuing Kisan Credit card are duly met.
    • In case the respective DLTC / SLTC have not suggested the scale of finance required for any crop or have recommended finance lower than actual required amount in the view of the bank Branches, the Branches can fix suitable scale of finance towards the crop production.
    • For calculating the credit card limit, the net operational land holdings shall include the total leased-in land & excluding leased out land.

Other features of Kisan Credit card

  • Kisan credit card has the feature of revolving cash credit limit which is reviewed annually.
  • No upper cap on number of withdrawals for the farmer provided the repayment is done within the time limit.
  • Bank reserves the right for continuation of the card, enhancement of credit limit or reducing the limit or complete withdrawal of the card, post annual review and considering the performance of the card holder.
  •  The net sum of credits within a year into the account should be at least equal to the highest outstanding of the card. No withdrawal in the account to remain as outstanding for a period more than 1 years in case of normal crops & 18 months for sugarcane and banana crops.
  • Tariff structure is subject to change from time to time at the sole discretion of the Bank of India.  Currently the service tax at the applicable rates being levied on all fees for Bank of India credit card, interest and other fees & charges on all the BOI credit cards.

Payment Options

Bank of India offers manifold option to its card holders to make the make the payment for all types of BOI credit card as per their most suited options

  1. Cheque / Draft Payment – Bank of India Card holder may issue cheque / draft payable to your Bank of India 16 digit Credit Card No. Card holders are advised to mention their name and contact number on the reverse of the cheque/draft.
  2. Cash Payment – Bank of India credit Cardholders can make outstanding payments by cash, quoting their 16 digit credit card no., at any of the Bank of India branches in India and their cash will be deposited into respective credit card account. Extra charges may be applicable for such payments.
  3. Through Courier/ Mail- In case customer cannot visit the branch or atm drop boxes, they can mail a cheque/draft to Bank of India Cards Division, Credit Card Wing, Mumbai Main Branch, 4th Floor, 70/80 MG Road, Mumbai 400 021.To avoid late payment fee, Customer should ensure that their cheque reaches the bank three working days prior to the payment due date as this will ensure that their cheque is cleared well in advance.
  4. Direct debit facility:  Bank of India credit cards holders who are also Bank of India saving account holders can make payment directly for their Bank of India credit card online by authorizing the bank to debit their account with Bank of India.  The Bank will debit their account to the extent of the Minimum Payment Due Amount or the total due amount on the Payment due date in favor of the Bank of India credit card. For this option, customer has to sign a standing instruction form with the bank branch where he is holding his savings account. In case of insufficient balance in the saving account, the bank may, at its discretion, permit overdrawing.  However in such cases the card shall be blocked until the over drawings in the saving account are cleared.
  5. NEFT: Card holder can make the payment for their bank of India credit card through remittance for their Bank of India credit cards directly to Card Division by NEFT (National Electronic Fund Transfer).  For this purpose card holder will have to add Bank of India credit card as Third party either on the Net banking or through necessary agreement with their Bank through whom they intend to send the amount.  While remitting the funds, Card holders shall provide the following details to the sending Bank to enable Bank of India Card Division to account the remittances made to the respective Card account.

  1. Online Bill payment through Bank of India Web Portal - Bank of India Credit Card holders can make the payment for their credit card outstanding using the web portal. The services are available to any saving account holder with Net Banking transaction facility with any of the Banks
  • Card holder have to visit Bank’s website – www.bankofindia.com
  • click on the link to get redirected to the payments page
  • click on the Proceed link provided on the disclaimer page
  • Provide the card details and relevant personal details where required.
  • Select the Bank and branch through which card holders intend to Pay.
     
  • Post Confirmation of the details, the page would be redirected to the payee Banks payment page/s.
  • Card holders have to authenticate and duly authorize the payment by providing their credentials on the payee Bank’s website.
  • On successful verification and approval, the bank account will be instantaneously debited and card holder shall receive a success message towards payment along with a reference number.
  • The payment shall get reflected in the Credit Card Account within 3 working days from the date of payment.

Other Features for Bank of India credit cards

  • The BOI credit cards are issued in alliance with VISA / MASTERCARD and the usage and acceptability of the cards is governed as per the VISA/ MASTERCARD policies.
  • The credit card statement for Bank of India credit cards shall be sent to the cardholders at their registered address or registered email id only.
  • The reward points on your credit card can be checked or redeemed directly through credit card accounts online.
  • The Minimum amount due and payment due date  shall be mentioned on the Bank of India credit card bill itself and in case of non-payment of the minimum amount due,  Late Fee Charges of Rs.250 will be charged in addition to the due amount.

Good

This is my first experience with Bank of India and so far it was good. I applied for a credit card and it got approved very easily. I received my credit card within 1 week. I am very happy as there is no annual or joining fee with the card.
