How to Update Aadhar Card Online

Step 1: Login to the Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal using your Aadhaar number and OTP received on your registered mobile number

Step 2: Click on the “Update Address in your Aadhaar” option

Step 3: Select the type of online Aadhaar update, that is, whether you want to do a document-based address update or Head of Family (HOF)-based address update

Step 4: Enter the required address details 

Step 5: Upload scanned copies of original supporting documents for address update

Step 6: Pay an update fee of Rs. 50 using debit/credit card or via net banking

Step 7: You will get the Service Request Number that can be used to track the update request 

Step 8: Once your request is verified by UIDAI’s internal quality check operators, where your demographic data is matched with the supporting documents, you will receive an SMS notification containing the Enrolment ID

Step 9: After a few more validations by the backend software, your request processing will be completed and you will receive an SMS notification about the outcome. 

Update requests are generally completed within 30 days. Once updated, you can download the updated version and get your Aadhar card print out.

What Details can be Changed in the Aadhaar Card Offline

Steps to Update Aadhaar Card by Visiting Enrolment Centre

You can update Aadhar Card details by visiting the Aadhaar Seva Kendra. Here is how you can do it easily:

1. Fill the Aadhaar card correction form i.e.

2. Attach self-attested copies of proof validating your update request and submit the Aadhar correction form/Aadhar card update form along with documents.
3. You need to pay a fee for every such visit to the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre for update or correction.

Moreover, you can also visit various banks to update your Aadhaar card. For example, Axis Bank Aadhar card update allows you to make changes in your Aadhaar Card by visiting the nearest Axis Bank branch that provide Aadhaar services.

• Each time you make a demographic update/correction in your Aadhaar card online or offline, you are required to pay a fee of Rs. 50.

• The changes that you enter must be correct and appropriate documents which you are attaching with the form must be approved and self-attested.
• Your required details must be filled in English or in the local language.
