What is mAadhaar App?
mAadhaar App is the official Aadhaar application launched by UIDAI in order to provide a platform for Aadhaar holders to carry their demographic data and photograph with them in their smartphones. A total of three Aadhaar profiles can be created in the app. The app is well protected by the security password that the user has to enter to open the app every time. How to Install mAadhaar in your Mobile Phone
mAadhaar app can be installed only on Android smartphones. You have to follow these simple steps to download and install the mAadhaar app to your smartphone:

Step 3: Give required permissions to the app
Step 4: The app will be installed on your phone
Step 5: You have to set a password for your app
Step 6: This password needs to be entered whenever you login the app

How to Add Your Profile in the mAadhaar App
In order to use the mAadhaar app, you will have to first add your profile in the app. It is worth noting that the profile will be added only when the mobile number mentioned in Aadhaar is the same that is being used in the smartphone. Follow these simple steps to add your profile in mAadhaar:
Step 1: Open the mAadhaar app
Step 2: Enter your password to login to the app
Step 3: Now select the three dots on the upper right corner of the interface
Step 4: Select the “Add profile” option
Step 5: Now enter your Aadhaar number or simply scan the QR code on your Aadhaar card

How to Delete Your Profile in the mAadhaar App
Your profile in the mAadhaar app will automatically be deleted once you remove the sim of Aadhaar-linked mobile number from your smartphone. In case you are upgrading your mobile phone or switching your mobile connection, you should delete your profile and uninstall the mAadhaar app as a safety precaution before handing it to someone else. Here’s how you can delete your profile in the mAadhaar app:
Step 1: Open the mAadhaar app
Step 2: Enter your password to login
Step 3: Click on your profile to open it
Step 4: Now select the three dots on the top right corner of the app
Step 5: Select the “Delete Profile” option

How to Lock/Unlock Biometrics through the mAadhaar App
UIDAI has provided the facility to the users of the mAadhaar app to lock/unlock biometrics using the mAadhaar app. Alternatively, biometrics can be locked, unlocked or disabled by visiting the UIDAI’s official website. It is worth noting that your mobile number should be linked with Aadhaar otherwise you will not be able to avail this facility. You have to follow these steps to lock or unlock biometrics using mAadhaar:
Step 1: Open the mAadhaar app in your phone
Step 2: Login by entering your password
Step 3: Click on your profile and open it
Step 4: Click on the “Biometric Settings” from the menu on top-right corner of the app
Step 5: Tick the “Enable Biometric Lock” option
Step 6: A disclaimer is shown which says that the biometrics may still be used for the next six hours
Step 7: Click on “OK”
Step 8: An OTP is sent to the registered mobile number
Step 9: The OTP is automatically fed by the app
Step 10: Your biometrics will be locked immediately
In order to unlock your biometrics temporarily, follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to the top-right menu and click on “Biometric Settings”
Step 2: A message is displayed, “Your biometrics will be temporarily unlocked.”
Step 3: Click on “Yes”
Step 4: Your biometrics will be unlocked for 10 minutes
Step 5: If you want to disable the biometric lock, you can do it by visiting the UIDAI’s website.
How to Use the TOTP Feature in the mAadhaar App
There are instances where you need the Aadhaar OTP to avail various facilities. But due to network or some other issues, you do not receive the OTP on your registered mobile number. UIDAI has introduced the Time-based OTP that is valid only for 30 seconds. The TOTP gets changed automatically every 30 seconds. In order to use this service, the user should have an active internet connection. Here’s how you can use the TOTP through the mAadhaar app:
Step 1: Login to your mAadhaar app by entering your password
Step 2: Select your profile and open it
Step 3: In the lower half of the app, select the option “Show TOTP”
Step 4: A new screen will appear with a six digit TOTP
Step 5: A clock moves continuously for 30 seconds
Step 6: As soon as 30 seconds gets completed, the OTP is changed instantly
Step 7: Below the TOTP, you can find your name and Aadhaar number
