DigiLocker is an initiative by the Government of India under the Digital India programme to move towards paperless and digital governance. There was a time when a person had to get documents attested by a gazetted officer to be used as valid proof. Getting the documents reissued was time-taking and a tough task if one happened to lose them. To overcome these problems, the government has made provisions for digital documentation and e-signing through DigiLocker, instead of self-attestation. Though there are a lot of things to know about this service, here, we have dealt with the 7 most important points that you should know about DigiLocker.

digilocker certificates are valid for ecnr passport verification? because of I lost my educational certificates.
Hi Phani,
Yes, it is valid. However, it must be attested by the school principal or the concerned person from the particular department of your school.
How does police verify the car document uploaded to the digilocker, do we need to handover our phone to them ?
Hi, you can simply show your documents uploaded in your DigiLocker to the police for them to verify. You need to make sure that the digital RC and DL in a DigiLocker account can only be spot verified for authenticity either by validating the Digital Signature of MoRTH on the PDF copy of the document or by scanning the QR code on digital documents by using the QR scan facility on DigiLocker mobile app.
