Canara Bank Timings

Post COVID-19 lockdown, normal working hours have been restored at all Canara Bank branch offices i.e. 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM from Monday to Friday. At the beginning of lockdown, Canara Bank had reduced the total working strength in the office and barred all the non-essential services such as passbook updates in order to safeguard its customers and the staff.

All banking services including passbook printing, account opening, cash deposit and withdrawal, cheque clearing, remittances and government transactions, and note exchange services are now available at the bank.

The customers visiting the branch offices are advised to take necessary precautions. 

• Customers will not be allowed to enter the bank without a face mask
• Social distancing should be maintained at the bank
• Customers should sanitise properly before and after leaving the premises
• Proper queues should be maintained
• Customers should not visit the bank unless absolutely necessary

The bank is encouraging its customers to use Canara Bank Net-banking and Canara Bank Mobile Banking services for most of its banking operations. The motive behind this is to avoid crowding at banks or even ATMs.

NEFT Timings

Under NEFT service, the transactions related to fund transfer are settled in batches. Currently, NEFT works in hourly series from-

However, it is highly recommended that account holders must use online banking to transfer funds using the NEFT system to avail this facility 24X7 without holidays. Also, banks will no longer impose any charges on such transactions until further notice.

RTGS Timings

Real-time Gross Settlement (RTGS) facility is available at Canara Bank 24×7 on all working days (including holidays).

Canara Bank employees go to lunch on a rotational basis so that the business does not get interrupted during working hours. The lunch timings are around 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

NEFT Transactions on the half-hourly settlement timings are from 8:00 AM to 7 PM for branches. There are 48 half-hourly settlement batches every day as per RBI. The settlement of the first batch will commence after 00:30 hours and the last batch will end at 00:00 hours.

Canara Bank RTGS Charges:

RBI has made the transfer of funds through the Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system available to Canara Bank customers 24×7 on all days of the week.

Canara Bank was established under the name Canara Bank Hindu Permanent Fund in 1906. Late Sri Ammembal Subbarao Pai was the founder of the bank.
