Banking is now made easy and quick with mobile banking services. Now, money can be instantly transferred using your mobile via Internet Banking feature. Banks issue a unique number code called MMID to ensure all these mobile transactions are safe.
In State Bank of India, Mobile Money Identifier (MMID) is a 7-digit unique number issued by the bank for its customer on the primary account registered. MMID is required for doing immediate payment service (IMPS) which is an instant electronic transfer of funds through mobile phones. MMID is issued with the purpose of providing safety for mobile transactions and to mitigate the risk of wrong credit.

As soon as you register for SBI mobile banking services, MMID will be issued. Here are few benefits of MMID number for money transfer via IMPS in State Bank of India:
Get MMID through State Bank of India Home Branch
At the time of opening the account at the State Bank of India’s branch, you can opt for mobile banking services registration. For registered SBI account holders, bank will issue 7-digit MMID number for the primary account.
If you hold multiple accounts at SBI, you can apply for separate MMID number for each account. You can do so by vising the SBI home branch (branch you hold your bank account) and fill up the application form for mobile banking activation.

Send an SMS by typing ‘MMID SBI’ to 9223440000 from your registered mobile number.
Get MMID through State Bank of India ATM

Retrieval of MMID NumberIn case you have forgotten your MMID, here is how you can retrieve it.
a) Retrieve MMID through SMS
Send SMS to 9223440000 typing ‘MMID SBI account number’ to retrieve the MMID for your particular account.
Send SMS to 9223440000 typing ‘MMID SBI’ to retrieve MMID number for all your SBI accounts.
b) Retrieve MMID through Customer Care
c) Retrieve MMID through State Bank of India Freedom App
You can also retrieve MMID number for your State Bank of India account by placing an application at home branch.

In case you wish to change the mobile number, you need to first deregister/cancel your MMID number and then get it registered fresh again with the new mobile number.
Process of cancellation/deregistration is as below:
Once you successfully deregister, follow the registration process again to get the MMID for the new mobile number.
