Follow the given steps to set-up BHIM Maha UPI app-

Step 1: Go to Google Playstore and ‘Install’ BHIM Maha UPI App

Step 2: Open the app and click on the ‘Send SMS’ option. This will send a confirmation message to your mobile no

Step 3: Now, you need to verify your mobile number. Click on the ‘Proceed’ button

Step 4: Enter all the required information- First Name, Last Name, Email-id, Security Question, Answer and then click on the ‘Submit’ button

Step 5: After that, set your application password 

Step 6: On the next screen, you will see the dashboard with send money, request money, payment address, transaction history, side drawer/navigation menu, notification options

Step 7: Next, create a ‘New Payment Address’ (e.g: abcd657@mahb) which is a unique identifier used while sending and receiving money instead of sharing bank details. Click on ‘Next’

Step 8: You will see different banks listed on the screen, select your bank and proceed

Note: The application password is not the same as UPI PIN. However, it is important to keep your application safe.

Bank of Maharashtra UPI PIN can be created online in the app itself. Once you have downloaded the application from Playstore, you will be asked to generate the PIN immediately. Here are the steps to generate UPI PIN:

Step 1: After downloading and setting up the application, select the ‘Generate UPI PIN’ option

Step 2: Enter the 6-digits and expiry date of your debit card

Step 3: You will receive an OTP from Bank of Maharashtra to create UPI PIN

Step 4: Enter the OTP on the screen and Proceed

Step 5: Enter the UPI Pin which you want to keep and confirm

Your UPI Pin is now registered with Bank of Maharashtra. You can use the same to perform transactions using this mobile app.

Step 1: Log-in to BHIM Maha UPI App

Step 2: Click on ‘Send Money’ option on the dashboard

Step 3: Select the address and account from which you want to send money

Step 4: Now, if the beneficiary is already added in your Payee list, select and enter the amount which you want to send. Click on the “Submit” button

Step 5: If you do not have the Payee in your beneficiary list, select the address and mode of payment- Payment address/Account/MMID. Whichever option you select, you will have to provide the details of the beneficiary and ‘verify’

Step 6: Once the payee is added to the list, you can enter the fund amount and ‘submit’

Step 7: Enter the UPI PIN and send money

Step 1: Log-in to BHIM Maha UPI App

Step 2: Click on ‘Request Money’ option on the dashboard

Step 3: Select from Address and your bank account

Step 4: Enter the virtual address of the payer

Step 5: Enter the requesting amount and minimum payable amount

Step 6: Set expiry time (ranging from 5 minutes to 1 day)

Step 7: Click on the ‘Request’ button

After your request is successfully sent, you will receive a confirmation on your mobile number. The requested amount will be credited into your bank account once the sender has accepted your request and transferred the amount.

Mapping Bank account basically means that the UPI address, which will act as your single identifier, must be linked to your actual bank account. Without that, you will not be able to make any transactions. Follow the given steps to map your bank account-

For Bank of Maharashtra Account Holders

1. Select Bank of Maharashtra from the list of UPI enabled banks
2. A list of account will get fetched and reflected on the screen
3. Select the account which you wish to map
4. An OTP is sent to your registered mobile number and gets read automatically
5. Your account will get mapped for any future transactions

For Non Bank of Maharashtra Account Holders

1. Select ‘other bank account’ option
2. Accounts linked to your mobile number gets displayed on the screen
3. Select the account for mapping from the account list
4. Enter 6 Digits of Debit Card, Expiry Date
5. After submission of these details, OTP will be triggered & send to your registered mobile number for account details fetch
6. After the selection account will get mapped to the payment address

Q. Can I change my Bank of Maharashtra UPI application password?

A. Yes, you can change your application password. Click on the ‘Forgot PIN’ option on the login screen, answer the security question and change PIN

Q. Can I send money using Bank of Maharashtra UPI app to someone who doesn’t have UPI ID?

A. Yes, you can send money to someone with no UPI ID by selecting the ‘Account’ option on the Send Money screen. With this, the money gets credited to the receiver’s account directly.

Q. How many UPI transactions can I perform in a day?

A. Maximum 10 transactions can be done in 1 day using UPI.

Q. How do I request money using BHIM Maha UPI App?

A. Request Money option is available on the dashboard of the Bank of Maharashtra UPI app. Click on the button, enter payer address, amount, remarks, validity date and click on submit.

Q. Do I need an internet connection to use this app?

A. Yes, you will require an internet connection to avail services on this app.

Q. Will my application gets blocked after I fail to enter the correct password?

A. Yes, after 5 unsuccessful attempts, your app will be blocked and then you will be able to change the password after 24 hours.
