RBI (Reserve Bank of India) like every year has released a list of bank holidays in India for this year too. The RBI via this list informs the users about all the public, state-wise, regional and other bank holidays in India. Also as per the guidelines, it is to be noted that all the banks operating in India will remain closed on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays and all Sundays of every month. Given below is the complete list of bank holidays in August 2020.

Note: In addition to the above mentioned holidays, the 2nd and 4th Saturdays and all Sundays in a month are bank holidays, as provided by the RBI.
Following the guidelines of the RBI, all banks in India observe holidays on 2nd and 4th Saturdays and all Sundays of every month. The banks however remain open on 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays unless it is not observed as a public or other restricted holiday. NEFT (National Electronic Fund Transfer) is a payment service for funds transfer from one bank account to another. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has now made the NEFT service available for 24×7, 365 days (including bank holidays). The funds via NEFT are settled in half-hourly batches starting from 12:30 am to 12:00 pm.
RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement) is a payment service via which the funds are credited in the beneficiary’s account in real-time and on gross basis. Also, as per the guidelines of the RBI, the 2nd and 4th Saturdays and all Sundays of every month are observed as RTGS holidays. Following is the list of RTGS holidays in August 2020.
