Steps to Open HDFC Bank Savings Account Online

Visit the official website/portal of the bank and choose ‘Savings Account’ option from the ‘Products’ section. Choose savings account of your choice and click on ‘Apply Online’ button. A pop-up will open where you will have to choose your preferred city. For getting started, select if you are an existing customer or a new customer and after that, authenticate yourself by filling the required details. Now, fill the application form and attach a set of copies of Know Your Customer (KYC) documents. An executive of the bank will come to your place for the verification of the documents. After the successful verification process of your KYC documents, you will be provided with a welcome kit containing a debit cum ATM card, PIN number, and checkbook. Later, you can track the status of your application. Once your account is activated, you will be notified on your registered mobile number and you can use the checkbook and debit card for banking services.

Steps to Open HDFC Bank Savings Account Offline

Visit the nearest branch of HDFC Bank along with original and copies of KYC documents. Fill all the details carefully in the application form. While filling the form, it is imperative that the details you are providing match the details mentioned in the documents. Once you are done with the information, submit the form at the counter. An executive of the bank will verify the details provided by you in the form and after successful approval, you will receive a welcome kit. Within a few days, your account will be activated. You can later use it for banking facilities.

The interest rate is fixed at 3.00% for balances below Rs. 50 lakh and 3.50% for balances of Rs. 50 lakh and above. The interest will be calculated on the daily balances maintained and will be paid at quarterly intervals.
