To be eligible to apply for an SBI debit card, you must have a savings, current or another eligible account type with State Bank of India (SBI) and complete the KYC (Know your Customer) verification process.
Minors are also eligible for eligible to avail a debit card, however they must apply it under their guardian’s supervision.
However, the type of debit card issued by the bank may depend on several factors, such as minimum account balance and account type, and your relationship with SBI.

When you create an account with SBI, you are usually given a debit card as well. However, if you did not receive a debit card or wish to apply for a new one, you can contact SBI’s customer service to submit a request.
You may either visit the bank branch or use Internet banking feature to request a debit card.
Follow the mentioned simple steps to apply for a SBI debit card online:
Step 1: Log into your SBI Internet banking
Step 2: Click on ATM Card Services under the e-Services tab
Step 3: Click on Request ATM/Debit Card
Step 4: Select the card you wish to apply for and provide the delivery address and authenticate via OTP sent to your registered mobile.

After getting your debit card, you must activate it using your PIN in a few simple steps.
You can generate SBI debit card PIN by both online, as well as offline modes.
You can also visit your nearest SBI ATM to generate a PIN offline. Here, you will be asked to enter your account number and registered mobile number, after successful verification an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. This OTP will be valid for 2 days and can be used to generate a new debit card pin using the ATM.
To activate an SBI debit card online you can use SBI net banking and YONO mobile app. You can also call SBI customer care to assist you in generating the debit card PIN.
