SBI Credit Card Upgrade

State Bank of India credit card can be upgraded through any of the following ways:

• Users can log in to their SBI card account and click on the “Upgrade Now” button to get the upgraded card
• Cardholders may contact customer care and request an upgrade to their credit card. The customer care number is 1860 180 1290 or (STD Code) 39 02 02

Users can upgrade their SBI card to the below-given cards. Their features and benefits are listed below.

SBI Card Elite

• Cardholder gets Rs. 5000/- gift voucher of Shoppers Stop, Marks and Spencer, Yatra, Westside as well as Bata or Hush Puppies as welcome gift
• Earns bonus reward of up to 50,000 points annually
• Every month two movie tickets worth Rs. 250 are given to the cardholder
• Complimentary lounge access to international and domestic airports

Air India SBI Platinum Card

• 5,000 reward points as a welcome gift
• If cardholder spends of Rs. 3 lakh or more annually then cardholder gets 15,000 bonus reward points
• Cardholders earn 2 reward points on each Rs. 100 spent
• Earn 10 rewards points per Rs. 100 spent on tickets booked through Air India’s website
• On every anniversary the cardholder earns 2,000 reward points

Air India SBI Signature Card

• 20,000 reward points are given as a welcome gift
• If cardholder spends of Rs. 20 lakh or more annually from the card, then cardholder receives 1,00,000 reward points as bonus
• Cardholder earns 4 reward points on each Rs. 100 spent
• Earns 20 rewards points on each Rs. 100 spent on tickets booked from the Air India website
• Free access to international and domestic airport lounges

SBI Card Prime

• Cardholder gets a gift voucher worth Rs. 3000 from Shopper Stop, Yatra Marks and Spencer, Pantaloons and Bata/Hush Puppies
• If cardholder spends Rs. 5 lakh or more annually from this credit card, then they will get a gift voucher worth Rs. 7,000
• Every Rs. 100 spent on accelerated categories cardholder earns 10 reward points
• Free access to domestic and international airports lounge

The following points should be kept in mind when users want to upgrade SBI credit card:

• Check fees of the new card. Premium cards charge a higher annual fee
• Terms and conditions associated with the new card should be checked
• Check Reward Points of the card. Customers may be able to carry forward your reward points from old to new credit card
• Check the interest rate of the new card

When will the annual fee on the new card be charged?
The annual fee will be charged on your existing credit card’s bill date. The bank will notify the cardholder of the annual fees of the new credit card through a monthly statement.

When will I receive the new credit card?
The new credit card will be delivered to the user within 7 working days.

What information should cardholder know about the new premium SBI credit card?
The cardholder should be aware of all the following details:

1. Cardholder shall only be eligible for a welcome gift of the new credit card after the payment of an annual fee
2. Old SBI Card will be active for a period of 90 days post upgrading to a new card
3. SBI Card reserves the right to increase or not increase the credit limit of the new credit card
4. Customers may also downgrade their credit card
5. Customers may not upgrade their credit card for a period of 6 months post receiving their credit card
6. The new cards issued are domestic cards which mean that these cards can only be used at Indian merchant outlets or online transactions on Indian website or at ATMs of India. If you want to avail credit card with international usage then you must enable the card for international transaction by contacting the bank

What are the eligibility criteria to get a credit card upgrade?
The upgrade would be provided to those customers whose internal performance/assessment/parameters and credit history is good.

Can add-on SBI credit card be upgraded?
Users need to upgrade their primary credit card to upgrade their add-on card. Users cannot just upgrade their add-on card without upgrading their primary credit card.
