Credit Limit is the maximum amount that can be outstanding at any given time against the credit card account. The cardholder is notified of the available credit limit on the card at the time of delivery of card and through a monthly statement. Corporations may, however, choose to assign a limit to the individual cardholder.

YES Bank will decide the credit limit and cash withdrawal limit of the cardholder at its sole discretion. The add-on cardholder shares the same limit with the primary cardholder. YES Bank credit limit is decided on the following basis:
Income Earned: It will influence the debt, but that does not imply that higher credit limit will be given to those whose earnings have increased. YES bank does not only examine the applicant’s income but also examines the debt-to-income ratio. This is an important point when it comes to establishing the YES bank credit card limit
Customer’s Profile: YES bank checks the profile and nature of the purchases made by the cardholder to determine the credit limit on the card. YES Bank maintains the sole authority to change ‘Credit Limit’ or ‘Cash Limit’
Credit Score: A higher credit limit is given to that cardholder who for a long period of time has a good credit card score. YES Bank does not allow much credit limit to those cardholders whose credit score in the past was not good
Other Credit Limits: The credit limit of YES Bank is also subject to the credit limit of any others bank’s credit card held by the cardholder.

The request to increase the credit limit will be approved by the bank only when it has inspected the submitted application form with the above-mentioned documents. The bank on the basis of internal review has the right to either accept the request or reject it.
What if the credit limit is exceeded by cardholder?
If the total outstanding amount of the credit card exceeds the credit limit, then the excess amount must be immediately paid. The cardholder will be charged over limit fee if they exceed the credit limit. The charges will appear on the Cardholder’s Card Account.
Can the credit limit be reduced?
YES Bank shall periodically check the credit limit on the card account and reserve the right to lower/decrease the credit limit without prior notice to the cardholder.
What is cash limit?
The maximum amount of cash that can be withdrawn from the credit card is called cash limit. It is usually less than the credit limit.
How can the cardholder check the available credit card limit?
Cardholders can check available credit limit through net banking, sending SMS through registered mobile number or by calling customer care. One can even visit the nearby branch of YES Bank to check the available credit limit.
