Axis Bank sends credit card statements to the cardholders every month to let them know about their spending, minimum amount due and other details. The bank provides credit card statements through both online and offline modes. Additionally, you can also opt for an e-statement if you want to keep a track of your transactions. You must check your credit card statement timely to ensure that no unauthorized transactions have been carried out on your card. Here is all you need to know about Axis Bank Credit Card Statement.

Axis Bank Credit Card Statement is an official document that contains a detailed summary of all the transactions carried by you in a billing cycle. Besides this, the statement also includes other details, such as last billing cycle, outstanding balance, minimum amount due, reward points and much more. You will receive this statement at the end of the billing cycle, i.e., mostly on a monthly basis.
The credit card statement is divided into various terms or components. These components mention all the expenses you have made and charges levied on your credit card in detail. Let’s take a look at some of the important terms or components of credit card statement:
Statement Period: The statement period is the duration for which the payment of the card has to be done. You can find the statement period on the top right-hand corner of the credit card statement.
Payment Due Date: The due date of payment is meant to act as the deadline by which the amount due by you should be paid to the bank. If any payment is made later than this date, you will be eligible to pay fees for the same. The late payment not only incurs charges but also negatively impacts your credit score.
Total Amount Due: The total amount due section represents the total amount that is due as on the statement date. This amount includes the opening balance, new purchases, fees and other finance charges.
Minimum Amount Due: Each month, you have to pay a minimum amount due to the bank, which is a portion of the total amount due. This might usually turn out to be two or three percent of the total dues owed. You may attract a fine for remitting anything less than this amount.
Closing Balance: There is another section, which is the closing balance of the card. It implies the total amount which is due on the card. If you want to pay off your entire debt every month, then this is the amount you’ll need to pay. Ideally, it should be minimal at the end of each cycle.
Current Outstanding Balance: It is the total amount of the money that you are liable to pay to the bank at a certain point of time. It is calculated on the basis of your previous month’s expenses on your credit card.
Transaction Summary: A transaction summary provides a quick reference to all the transactions made by you during the billing cycle. This can be verified by similarly occurring transactions in the section.
The minimum amount that you need to pay on or before the payment due date is known as the Minimum Amount Due. Generally, it is calculated as 5% of the total outstanding amount. Remember, if you have converted any of your purchases into EMI, then the amount will be added to your minimum amount due.
For example: You have made a purchase of Rs. 10,000 on August 15 and the due date is September 26, then your minimum amount due will be Rs. 500 (5% of Rs. 10,000).
