Based on the cultivation requirements, farmers can avail this cost-effective facility to fund any agricultural or related activities with several benefits such as flexible repayment options and low interest rates.

Features of Bank of India Kisan Credit Card

There are several useful features of Bank of Indian Kisan Credit Card such as:

  • Credit cards are offered to farmers along with a passbook that contains necessary information such as name, address, validity period, borrowing limit, landholding information and more to help keep a record of transactions.
  • Loans for short term use or production is provided based on the area of cultivation, the type of crop and the scale of finance required.
  • Short term credit is available for any investments that need to be made and for ancillary activities.
  • Up to 25% of gross estimated income is provided as short term credit to farmers.
  • Finance is provided against the product marketing and storage receipts up to a maximum of 50% of the price of the produce.
  • Farmers can get up to ₹10 Lakhs for a period of 12 months for various activities.
  • Hypothecation of crops should be provided for loans up to ₹ 50,000 as security.
  • For loans above ₹ 50,000, hypothecation of the land and the standing crops is provided as security.

Eligibility Criteria for Bank of India Kisan Credit Card

The Kisan Credit Card is offered by Bank of India to all farmers who qualify for sanction of short term loans for crop cultivation, allied agricultural activities and also other non-farming activities acceptable to the bank. The farmer availing the Kisan Credit Card should be from the operational area of the branch of Bank of India that he is availing the facility from.

Documents Required for Bank of India Kisan Credit Card

To avail a Bank of India Kisan Credit Card, the following documents are necessary, in addition to the general KYC documents-

  • C-515/ L-516
  • Demand Promissory Note
  • Authority Letter (AG-15)
  • Deed of Composite Hypothecation Agreement
  • Pledge Letter
  • Charge on Land as per the Agricultural Credit Act, Land Mortgage Act or Equitable Mortgage Act
  • Undertaking that borrower will make payments within 12 months or when any sale of produce happens.
  • Pledged Storage Receipt
  • Undertaking from the owner of the godown or cold storage that no goods will be delivered without pledged storage receipts.
  • Bank’s lien will be given to any storage unit.

These pledge letters and undertakings are only valid when all sub-limits on storage receipts are approved.
