Kotak Mahindra Bank offers an add-on card facility on its credit cards. With Kotak add-on credit card, the primary cardholder can share some of his credit limit with his family members including spouse, parents, siblings or children above the age of 18. The facilities on the add-on card would be similar to that of the primary card.
Add-on credit cards, in general, carry the same features and enjoy the same benefits as that of the primary card. These are, however, subject to change if the bank so decides.
Same Benefits as the Primary Card- Kotak add-on credit cardholder enjoys the same benefits as the primary cardholder in the same measures. Exceptions, if any, will be communicated to the user at the time of card issuance.
Spend Limit- The Primary cardholder has the liberty to set a limit on the add-on card as desired to control or regulate the expenses incurred on it.
Expense Management for Multiple Add-on Cards- Kotak add-on credit cards provide the essential feature of tracking individual spends on each of the cards. This helps to keep track of individual expenses.
Fuel Surcharge Waiver- The waiver applicable on the primary card is also valid for the add-on card at the same rate for all types of cards.
Reward Points- All the reward point criteria applicable on the primary card are equally applicable on the add-on cards and thus add to the cumulative reward points which can be redeemed for gifts or vouchers.
Insurance Cover- Kotak add-on credit cardholders enjoy the same insurance cover policies of the primary card unless otherwise mentioned at the time of application.
Credit Limit- The credit limit remains the same for the add-on card as the primary credit card but cannot exceed the credit limit of the primary card under any circumstances. Any changes in the credit limit of the add-on card lie entirely at the discretion of the bank.
The eligibility criteria for the Kotak add-on credit card remains the same as the primary card with the addition of two important factors.
An add-on card can only be issued on the complete submission of all KYC documents of the add-on cardholder and the approval of the bank for the same, thereafter. This includes proof of identity and proof of address.
The banks do not ask for income proof of the add-on cardholder as the primary cardholder stands liable for any missed payments of delinquencies on the add-on card.

What is the billing process for the add-on credit cards?
All dues are cleared through the primary cardholder. In case of missed payments, the credit score of the primary cardholder will be impacted.
Who has the authority to check the expenses made on the add-on cards?
The primary cardholder has the sole authority to check the expenses on the add-on card or cards.
Will I earn reward points on add-on cards?
Yes. The rewards program for the add-on card will be the same as that on the primary card.
