HDFC Credit Card Limit is the maximum amount you can spend on your credit card at a given point of time. It is the maximum amount of credit the bank extends to you. When you make a transaction using your credit card, the amount is deducted from your credit limit and it is added back when you pay for the same.
HDFC credit limit is decided on the basis of your income, credit limit on your existing cards, previous credit records, etc. Following is the detailed information about your HDFC Credit Card Limit.

When you get your HDFC Credit Card, you will be able to see 3 types of credit limits mentioned on your welcome document- Total Limit, Available Limit and Cash Limit.
The total credit limit is the maximum limit you can avail on your HDFC Credit Card. Every time you make a transaction, the limit will be deducted by the amount of purchase and it will be restored as and when you pay credit card bills.
The available credit limit is the credit amount that is available for purchases as on the specified date.
For example, if the total credit limit on your HDFC Card is Rs.1 lakh and you make a purchase of Rs. 30,000, then the available credit limit will be Rs. 70,000.
The cash limit is the amount included in the credit limit assigned to your credit card account that can be withdrawn as cash. It is to be noted that credit card cash withdrawal attracts applicable interest charges and cash withdrawal fee.
For example, if the credit limit of your card is Rs. 2 lakh, the cash advance limit on it would generally vary between 20%-80% of the same. If the cash limit is 20%, you can withdraw Rs. 40,000 as cash by using your credit card.
