Axis Bank and HDFC Bank both have collaborated with different payment platforms — super.money by Flipkart and PhonePe respectively. Through these partnerships, both the credit card providers offer co-branded credit cards, namely Axis Bank SUPERMONEY and PhonePe HDFC Uno. Both of these cards are entry-level cards on RuPay network and allow the cardholders to earn value-back on UPI transactions. However, despite these similarities, their preferred spending categories and value-back systems vary and cater to different customer bases.

Reward Type & Redemption:
Here, Axis Bank Credit Card offers cashback on the card spends, while the other card offers reward points. However, when redeemed as cashback, both cards offer the same redemption ratio of 1:1. The redemption value drops only if you use your HDFC Credit Card reward points for other non-cashback options.
Value-back Rate:
When it comes to value-back rate on different spending categories, both cards offer better value-back on their co-branded platforms, however the types of spends in focus differ from one another. Axis SUPERMONEY offers higher savings of 3% on UPI transactions made using super.money platform. On the other hand, PhonePe Uno credit card offers accelerated savings of 2% on select PhonePe spends which mainly include bill payments and lifestyle-related spends on movie, travel and home delivery of everyday-use items. Both cards offer a base value-back of up to 1% back on all other spends.
So, if you wish to save more on UPI spends then Axis SUPERMONEY is the better choice as it offers 2% more savings than HDFC PhonePe Uno. However, if spends related to bill payments, movies, travel and shopping of everyday-use items is your main focus, then PhonePe Uno is a more suitable option.
Monthly Capping on Value-back:
Axis SUPERMONEY comes with a capping on overall cashback earnings, while HDFC Uno comes with a category-wise capping. SUPERMONEY allows the users to earn cashback worth up to Rs. 500 in a month on maximum monthly spends of up to Rs. 50,000 (if only 1% cashback categories are considered). While PhonePe Uno cardholders can earn reward points worth up to Rs. 1,500 every month on a spending amount of up to Rs. 1.25 lakh.
The disparity in the capped values shows that high-spenders should opt for HDFC PhonePe Uno, as opposed to the Axis variant, to be able to maximise their value-back earnings.
