Axis Bank credit cards are quite popular as they cater to a wide customer base and offer numerous benefits, discounts and privileges to their customers. Before applying for a credit card with the bank, applicants must be aware of Axis Bank credit card eligibility criteria.
Axis Bank Credit Card Eligibility |
|
| Age | 18 – 70 years |
| Minimum Income Required | Rs. 25,000* p.m. |
| Occupation | Salaried / Self-Employed |
*Minimum Income requirement varies from one credit card variant to another.
Age – To apply for an Axis Bank credit card, an individual must fall between the age group of 18 – 70 years.
Residential Status – The applicant can be an Indian resident or an NRI. But the eligibility criteria for NRIs differs from that of Indian citizens.
Income – The income requirement tends to vary from card to card, therefore, the bank would inquire differently for the cards your apply. Mentioned below is the minimum income on which Axis Bank starts allowing customers to apply for credit cards:
Credit Score – Axis Bank also checks the credit report of the applicants to know how financially responsible they are. A score above 750 is considered good.
For add-on cardholders, Axis Bank has set certain preliminary requirements. Cardholders must check the terms and conditions related to the primary credit card before applying for an add-on card on it.
Note: The final decision for card approval is dependent solely upon the bank’s discretion. Apart from the above-mentioned criteria, the bank may take other factors into consideration as well.
Applicants must provide KYC documents such as proof of address, identity and income to process their credit card application. Following documents are accepted-
| Proof of Identity |
|
|
Proof of Address |
|
| Proof of Income |
|
Axis Bank may also ask for more documents to verify the applicant’s identity, address or income.
The following factors play a major role in deciding one’s credit card eligibility:
Income – Income is one of the most important factors affecting the eligibility for a particular credit card. It is also the main player in deciding the credit limit on a card. For salaried individuals, the net monthly salary reflected on the salary slip determines the credit limit. In the case of self-employed individuals, the Income Tax Returns acknowledgement is considered.
CIBIL Score – Banks generally prefer a credit score of 750 or more. A lower score could result in the bank extending a lower credit limit. If the score is poor then the bank might reject the application.
Existing Debts – Customers who have running loans/debt might find it difficult to get a credit card. This is especially true if the debt/EMI payment is quite high. Also, if the monthly payments reach 50% of the monthly salary the bank might reject the credit card application.
Previous Relation with the Bank – Maintaining a good relationship with the bank may prove to be beneficial for credit card applicants. Axis Bank credit cards are easy to secure if the applicant has a salary or savings account with the bank. In such cases, the bank will consider them as valued customers and provide them additional privileges which might not be offered to new customers.
