Udyog, Udyam Aadhar Registration Online Process: How to Update, Download & Print

According to the new recommendations received from the Advisory Committee for the MSME Udyam Registration, the Central Government has introduced new and specific criteria for the classification of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises for the filing of memorandum (i.e. Udyam Registration previously called Udyog Aadhaar) w.e.f. 1st  July 2020 on it’s new portal named Udyam Registration Portal. Moreover, Nirmala Sitharama, the Finance Minister of India announced this new registration process which is one of the major parts of Prime Minister’s relief package for the MSMEs amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. Also, MSME Registration is free, paperless and based on self-declaration.

The key highlights on the new MSME Udyam Registration:

• One can easily file for MSME Udyam Registration online on the self-declaration basis
• Except for an Aadhaar Card, there will be no need to submit the other documents
• Udyam Registration has been integrated with the system of IT and GST

Registration Process for New Entrepreneurs

(For the new entrepreneurs who are not yet registered as MSME)

Follow the steps mentioned below if you have not registered as MSME before:

Step 1: Click on the link i.e. https://udyamregistration.gov.in/UdyamRegistration.aspx

Step 2: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number

Step 3: Enter the ‘Name of Entrepreneur’ as per Aadhaar Card

Step 4: Read all the instructions carefully and click on the tick mark for declaration

Step 5: Once done, click on the ‘Validate and Generate OTP’ button

Step 6: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number for verification

Step 7: Enter the One Time Password and click on the ‘Validate’ button

Step 8: Once done, your Aadhaar Card will be successfully verified and you will have to enter the other relevant details such as:

• Type of Organisation (for example partnership)
• PAN Card- Yes/No
• If yes, Enter the PAN Number

And tick mark the declaration and click on ‘Validate’ button

Step 9: Your PAN will be verified. You need to mention more relevant details such as:

• Have you filed the ITR for previous year- Yes/No
• Do you have GSTIN- Yes/No

Step 10: In case , the entrepreneur does not have a valid PAN Card, then he/she has to enter the ‘Name of the Entrepreneur’ 

Step 11: Enter the mobile number and email address

Step 12: Enter the social category, gender, specially abled (yes/no), name of the enterprise, name of the plant or the unit

Step 13: Enter the location of Plant(s)

Step 14: Enter the official address of Enterprise

Step 15: You also need to enter the previous EM-II/UAM registration number, the status of enterprise, bank details, major activity of unit, National Industrial Classification (NIC) Code for Activities, number of persons employed in the enterprise

Step 16: Enter the investment in plant and machinery, turnover and other important details as mentioned in the image below

Step 17: Once done, tick mark the declaration and click on the ‘Submit and Get final OTP’ button

Step 18: Once again enter the OTP on your registered mobile number. Your Udyam registration will be completed

Note: PAN and GSTIN are mandatory for Udyam Registration from 01.04.2021. It is advised to apply for PAN and GSTIN immediately and update the same on this website by 31.03.2021, to avoid suspension of Udyam Registration.

Steps to Migrate to Udyam (Re-Register)

(For those who are already registered with EM-II or Udyog Aadhaar)

Follow the steps mentioned below to re-register for Udyam Registration:

Step 1: Visit the online Udyam Registration portal i.e. https://eudyogaadhaar.org/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjaW4mfDygwMVlNoWBR3kFA23EAAYASAAEgIzuvD_BwE

Step 2: Click on the ‘You can Migrate to Udyam (Re-Register) here’ option

Step 3: You will be redirected to a new page, enter your Udyog Aadhaar Number and select the OTP options such as OTP on Mobile as filled in UAM or OTP on email as filled in UAM

Step 4: Click on the ‘Validate and Generate OTP’ button

Step 5: Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile and then you can

Step 6: Your Udyog Aadhaar Number will be validated

Note: Once your Udyog Aadhaar Number will be successfully validated, it will take some time to complete the process. You need to visit the new Udyog Registration Portal after a few days.

Online Method for Udyog Aadhar Correction

Follow the steps mentioned below for Udyog Aadhar update:

Step 1: Visit the official portal of Udyog Aadhaar

Step 2: Click on “Update details” option

Step 3: You will find two options, you need to click on the ‘Udyog Aadhar Update’

Step 4: A new page will appear on the screen for MSME Udyog Aadhar Update

Step 4: Enter your 12-digit UAM number for  Udyog Aadhar Registration Update

Step 5: Click on OTP options i.e. OTP as on Mobile number or OTP as on email address

Step 6:  Enter the verification code from the box given box 

Step 7: Click on  the ‘Validate & generate OTP’ option

Step 8: Enter the OTP received on the respective option selected

Step 9: Once verified, necessary changes of MSMEe udyog Aadhaar can be done

Udyog Aadhar Update Fee

As per the official website of Udyog Aadhaar, there are no charges for update udyog aadhaar registration certificate. However, only the form of registration for MSMEs in India is charged, in view of complaints received regarding the fee charged by various agencies for facilitating the process of registration and update Udyog Aadhar.

How to Download MSME Certificate Online?

Follow the steps mentioned below for Udyog Aadhar download certificate through UAM number:

Step 1: Visit the official website of Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise, GOI i.e. https://eudyogaadhaar.org/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjaW4mfDygwMVlNoWBR3kFA23EAAYASAAEgIzuvD_BwE

Step 2:  Click on the  ‘Print’ option on the homepage of the website

Step 3: You will be redirected to a new page for Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum download

i.e. https://udyamregistration.gov.in/UA/PrintAcknowledgement_Pub.aspx

Step 4: Enter your UAM No. for MSME Udyog Aadhar download

Step 5: Enter your mobile number as per Udyog Aadhaar

Step 6: Click on the ‘Submit’ button

Step 7: An OTP will be sent on your registered mobile number

Step 8:  Enter the OTP for the validation process

Step 9: Udyog Aadhaar download in pdf will be done

Update of Udyam Registration

In case of some errors or need to update some details in the Udyam Registration form, you can update it from the new Udyam Registration Portal. However, your mobile number must be registered with Aadhaar to update details as it requires one time password (OTP) for verification.

How to Print of Udyam Registration

If you want to print your Udyam Registration Certificate, Udyam Registration application, Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM),  Udyog Aadhaar Application, you can use the new registration portal of Udyam with the help of validating one time password which will be sent to your registered mobile number.

Things to keep in mind while registering as a new entrepreneur or re-registering for Udyam:

If you are a new entrepreneur:

• The registration form shall be as provided in the Udyam Registration portal
• There are no fees or charges for filing Udyam Registration
• Without a 12-digit Aadhaar Number, the Udyam registration cannot be done
• In the case of a proprietorship firm, of the managing partner in the case of a partnership firm and of a karta in the case of a Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), the Aadhaar number must be of the proprietor
• GSTIN PAN, and Aadhaar Number shall be provided in case of a Company or a Limited Liability Partnership or a Cooperative Society or a Society or a Trust, the organisation or its authorised signatory
• Any deficiency of data for previous years when it did not have a 10-digit PAN shall be filled up on the basis of self-declaration in case an enterprise is duly registered as an Udyam with PAN
• Not more than one Udyam Registration shall be filed by an enterprise. However, if any number of activities that consists of manufacturing or service or both may be specified or added in one Udyam Registration
• In case someone misrepresents or tries to suppress the self-declared facts and figures intentionally  appearing in the Udyam Registration/the process of updation shall be liable to such penalty as specified under section 27 of the Act

If you re-register for Udyam Registration

• The Udyam Registration on or after the 1st day of July, 2020 has to be done by all the existing enterprises registered under EM–Part-II or UAM on its new portal
• Reclassification of the existing enterprises in accordance with the new rules of MSME registration till 30th June, 2020 is mandatory
• The existing enterprises registered prior to 30th June, 2020, shall continue to be valid only for a period up to the 31st day of March, 2021
• If an enterprise has already registered with any other organisation under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has to register itself under Udyam Registration again

  • Easy availability of bank loans at relatively lower rate of interest (up to 1.5% lower than interest on regular loans)
  • There are various tax rebates available for Udyam

  • Tariff subsidies and tax and capital subsidies on having an Udyam Registration Certificate
