Standard Chartered Platinum Rewards Credit Card is an entry-level card primarily designed to offer benefits on dining and fuel spends. Cardholders can earn 5X reward points (5 points per Rs. 150) on dining and fuel, without any monthly capping. While many cards either exclude fuel from their rewards program or limit the accelerated rewards, this card’s unlimited accelerated rewards give it an edge over other entry-level cards.
For other spends, the card offers a base reward rate of 1 point per Rs. 150 spent. Cardholders can redeem the accumulated reward points against gift vouchers and products & items through the rewards catalogue at a value of 1 RP = Rs. 0.25.
While the card does not charge any annual fee, it comes with a joining fee of Rs. 250, which gets waived off on spending Rs. 500 within the first 30 days, an easily achievable threshold even for low spenders. Overall, this card is a suitable option for consumers whose monthly spends are largely focused on fuel and dining.
