One of the most popular methods to transfer funds online is either NEFT or RTGS. National Electronic Fund Transfer is managed by the Reserve Bank of India and allows you to transfer funds from one bank to another. Through this method, you have the option of transferring funds using net banking with an assigned 11 digit alphanumeric IFSC code and a specific code for each bank, which makes it important for you to be aware of NEFT Holidays.
This is one of the most convenient funds transfer option as you can access funds through mobile banking, net banking or even offline by visiting the branch. If most of your fund transfers are made via NEFT, it is important to know the days when transactions may be closed or the cut-off timings for specific branches.
National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) is a nationwide electronic payment system wherein the transfer of funds is done on half-hourly basis. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has made the National Electronic Funds Transfer facility available for 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. The process is based on Deferred Net Settlement (DNS) and the transfer of funds will be carried out on a half-hourly basis starting from 12:30 am to 12:00 pm. Hence, NEFT service is now operational all the time irrespective of any holiday.
