With every IMPS transaction, the MMID or the Mobile Money Identifier is extremely important. This seven-digit code recognizes the beneficiary and the remitter and ensures that wrong transactions are avoided.
Every account holder will receive a unique 7-digit code called the Mobile Money Identifier or MMID that allows you to carry out IMPS transactions. This code is provided to you automatically when you download the mobile application & register for IMPS. There are other ways to obtain this code as well:

Q. What happens if I add the wrong details of the beneficiary for remittance?
Ans. If the beneficiary’s details are wrong, there is a high possibility of the transaction getting rejected. If you are transferring money using the account number, then please re-check it before making any transaction.
Q. If the transaction is not completed, will the customer get his/her money back and when?
Ans. Yes, if the transaction is not completed, the remitter will get the money back immediately. If the funds are not transferred immediately in any case, the reversal of funds will happen in seven days.
Q. How long does it take for the remittance to be carried into the beneficiary’s account?
Ans. The funds should be credited to the beneficiary’s account immediately.
Q. Is it necessary for the remitter to have a sufficient account balance to initiate IMPS?
Ans. Yes, the remitter should have a sufficient account balance to initiate IMPS.
Q. Can the beneficiary receive funds using the mobile number other than registered with the bank?
Ans. The beneficiary can receive funds using the registered mobile number only. In case, the beneficiary wants to receive funds using any other mobile number, the beneficiary will have to approach the bank and get the mobile number changed in such a case for mobile banking.
Q. What all details of the beneficiary are required to initiate an IMPS remittance from person to person?
Ans. The details required are – MMID of the beneficiary, mobile number of the beneficiary and name of the beneficiary.
