Established in 1906 in Mangalore, Canara Bank is one of the largest banks in India. It is a public sector bank and currently has over 6,000 branches and 10,000 ATMs across India. Formerly known as Canara Hindu Permanent Fund, it became known as Canara Bank in 1910. It was nationalised by the Government of India in 1969 along with 13 other major commercial banks. Canara Bank has several overseas branches in Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Hong Kong, Leicester, London, Moscow (with SBI), New York, Shanghai, Sharjah, South Africa, and Tanzania.

Headquartered in Bengaluru, Canara Bank sponsors two Regional Rural Banks (RRBs): Kerala Gramin Bank and Pragathi Krishna Gramin Bank.

Canara BillPay

Canara Bank offers Canara BillPay as a one-stop shop for the Canara Bank customers to pay their bills such as utility bills, prepaid mobile, postpaid mobile bill, DTH, credit card, broadband/landline, gas, insurance premium, rent, loan, tax, subscriptions, donations, etc. at one single window.

The customers can visit “https://www.billdesk.com/pgidsk/pgmerc/instpy/CNBIndex.jsp” to complete the payment using their Canara Bank Debit card or net banking. The payment is processed and cleared within 2 business days.

Canara Empower

Canara Bank has a UPI mobile app, known as Empower, that the bank customers can use to make payments or collect payments. The customers can easily carry out online transactions using a virtual address and keep their credentials safe. Bill payment service is also offered on the Empower app. Two of the biggest advantages of using the Empower app are that customers can add multiple accounts to the app and their personal data such as account number, IFS Code, etc. is secure when they send or receive payments.

It is one of the most popular mobile apps used by hundreds of thousands of Canara bank customers. It allows customers to send or receive payments 24*7 in real-time. Since they have a virtual address tagged with their account, they do not have to share their account details or remember them. The transactions are completed using their virtual address. Customers can also use this app to pay and settle their bills if they do not want to use the Canara BillPay app.

Canara e-Infobook

Canara Bank introduced the Canara e-Infobook to its customers to enable them to view their transaction details online easily as an online version of the Canara Bank passbook. The data is displayed similar to a physical Canara Bank passbook and the customer can view these details from their mobile phones or desktops from the comfort of their homes.

Online Canara Bank passbook, simply known as Canara e-Infobook, enables you to view transaction details, balance inquiry, account summary, Cheque Status, ATM/Branch Locator, Info about new products etc. anytime anywhere.

This facility is introduced with the objective of enabling mobile as a channel to view the account statements and check balance on mobile at the convenience of the customers. It is a multi-lingual app combining 8 regional languages so that the customers can use it easily.

Here are the steps you need to follow to install and set up the Canara Bank passbook:

  • Open the Google Play Store and Search for Canara e-Infobook
  • Select on the Canara e-Infobook app from the list and click on the Install
  • The app will ask for the necessary permissions. Click on “Accept”
  • Once the installation is complete, you can open the app to register
  • Enter your 13-digit Canara Bank account number to register for the Canara e-Infobook services
  • The app will send an SMS from your device to authenticate the mobile number. If the mobile number matches with the mobile number you have registered with your Canara Bank account, you will receive a One-Time Password (OTP)
  • Use this OTP to login for the first time
  • The app will take you to a Password change screen where you will be required to set up a 5-digit PIN (M-PIN)
  • Once the registration is complete, you can use the e-Infobook or Canara Bank passbook services at your convenience

Canara Swipe

Many customers like to use SMS and Missed call banking services these days. Canara Swipe allows customers to check balance, get a mini statement, request cheque book, hotlist debit card, block net banking, block credit card, etc. This app makes it easy for Canara Bank customers to carry out many banking transactions without the need to visit the bank branch.

Canara GeoLocate

When you are in a new city, it might be tough to explore the area for Canara Bank branches or ATMs. With the help of Canara GeoLocate, you can carry out a geo-based search to locate the nearest Canara Bank branch, ATM, or e-lounge using Google Maps. Just download and install the app to use the services.

Canara Cart
