American Express Credit Card Application Status

Follow the steps given below to check American Express Credit Card Application Status:

Step 1- Visit American Express App tracker page.

Step 2- Provide your registered mobile number that you filled in your application form. Alternatively, you may also enter the 14-digit App Ref Number, as provided in your application email.

Step 3- Click on Submit. You can now view your American Express credit card application status.

If you are unable to check status online, American Express also provides two other ways to check credit card application status- customer care and branch visit.

Customer Care

Call on American Express Toll-free Helpline- 1-800-419-2122.

Keep your Application Reference Number handy as the customer care executive will require the same for checking your credit card application status.

Branch Visit

You can walk into your nearest American Express branch and contact a bank official to know your American Express credit card application status. The bank official will ask for your Application Reference Number and a valid Photo Identification to process your request, and then let you know your American Express credit card application status.

When you check Amex Credit Card application status, you may get the following results:

No Records Found- This happens when you have entered wrong reference ID.

On Hold- This result will appear when American Express keeps your application process halted due to the lack of documents or some other internal factors.

Approved- This means that your application has got the approval but it is still to be printed and sent to your address.

Dispatched- When Amex has dispatched your new card via a postal service, this result will appear. You may also get the Airway Bill number to check the package.

Rejected- This result will be shown when Amex has rejected your credit card application. You may call their customer care cell to know the reason why it happened.

How long does it take for American Express to approve a credit card application?

It usually takes 7 to 10 business days from the date of application. However, the approval may take longer if there are issues in your KYC verification, income documents, etc.
