Union Bank of India offers debit card when you open your savings account as a part of your welcome kit. However, if you haven’t received a debit card, then you can apply for it through both online and offline modes. But, you must have a savings or current account with the bank to apply for a debit card, rest of the details are mentioned below:
You can apply for a debit card online through the official website of the bank. All you need to do is look out for an eligible debit card and apply for that card by submitting a duly filled application form. The bank will then verify your details and issue a debit card as per your eligibility.
You can apply for a Union Bank of India Debit Card offline by submitting the application form at the nearest branch of the bank. You can download the application form from the official website and attach all the relevant documents (if required) with it. After submitting the form, the bank will process your request.

Step 1: Go to the nearest Union Bank ATM and insert your debit card.
Step 2: Select the ‘Set ATM Green PIN’ option from the language selection screen.
Step 3: Select the ‘Generate OTP’ option and you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
Step 4: Again, insert your card and select the ‘Set ATM Green PIN’ option, and then select ‘Validate OTP’.
Step 5: Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
Step 6: Then, enter the ‘New PIN’ two times to activate your card.
After this, your card will be activated with the new PIN and you will receive a message on your registered mobile number regarding the activation of your card.
Just like Union Bank of India credit cards, you can make online as well as offline transactions via debit cards. Before using a debit card, you must remember that your debit card is directly linked to your bank account and the money will be deducted from your bank account for any transaction. Here is how can use your debit card for transactions:
To use your debit card for offline transactions, you are required to swipe your card at the POS machine. After this, you are required to enter the debit card PIN, which you have set to complete the transactions. The PIN authorizes that the transaction is made from the right debit card. After a successful transaction, you will receive a confirmation text on your registered mobile number.
To use your debit cards for online transactions, you are required to enter the card details, including card number, expiry date and CVV. After this, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number for confirmation. You are required to enter the OTP to complete the transaction. Also, like offline transactions, you will receive a confirmation message on your registered mobile number.

If you forget your debit card PIN, then you can reset your PIN by visiting any of the nearest Union Bank of India ATMs. You can also reset your PIN by contacting customer care of the bank and requesting a duplicate PIN.
Usually, the bank sends a new debit card before the expiry of your current card. However, if you haven’t received a new debit card, then you can visit any of the nearest branches of the bank and ask a representative to issue a new debit card.
