Gold and jewellery purchases are often excluded from credit card rewards or cashback programs. However, some credit cards make an exception, offering up to 5% back on gold purchases- either as co-branded benefit or through base reward earning on all transactions, inclusive of jewellery spends. Given that these are typically high-value purchases, having a card that offers benefits on this category can yield a great savings for consumers, particularly those who spend a substantial amount on gold purchases frequently.
Here we have compiled a list of the best credit cards with benefits on gold and jewellery spends. While many cards don’t primarily focus on gold purchases, a few stand out by providing co-branded benefits with popular merchants like Tanishq, Zoya, Reliance Jewels, etc. In addition to the co-branded cards, our list also covers cards that include gold spends in their rewards program and provide good returns on this often-excluded category.

Among multiple benefits around numerous Titan-owned brands, the Titan SBI Card offers substantial returns on four different gold jewellery brands: Tanishq, Zoya, Caratlane, and Mia. Unlike most co-branded credit cards that limit the benefits to one brand, this card gives consumers an opportunity to shuffle between different brands. Value-back is offered as cashback, but there is quarterly capping, hence consumers should plan their purchases accordingly. For instance, cashback earned on Carartlane, Mia and Zoya is capped at Rs. 10,000 per quarter, which means spends above Rs. 2 Lakh in a quarter made on these brands will not earn any accelerated benefits. Hence, it is better to split big-ticket jewellery spends across different quarters to derive maximum value.

Cardholders can earn up to 5% cashback in the form of NeuCoins, which can again be utilized across these brands, reaffirming the card’s co-branded identity. HDFC Infinia is another all-round credit card offering an excellent reward rate of 3.33% on multiple categories including gold spends. It is an invite-only credit card offered only to selected customers. Benefits are not limited to reward earning; cardholders can also directly redeem rewards against Tanishq vouchers in the ratio of 1:1. Though non-Tanishq spends also yield a good return, those who prefer Tanishq for gold purchases can well utilize the card benefits. Due to multiple redemption options available, the card is a good fit for those who frequently spend on gold spends but also want all-round benefits across travel and shopping.
Note: As HDFC Infinia is an invite-only card, you cannot apply for it. However, you can get the same value-back on gold purchases and other spends through HDFC Diners Club Black Credit Card. Travel and lifestyle benefits on both the cards are also similar.

Additionally, users also get access to the ‘Exclusive Gold Catalogue’, covering premium brands like Apple, Fitbit, etc. An important point to note is that the card comes with a capping of 50,000 reward points in a statement cycle across all categories.
