For security purposes HSBC credit cards are delivered to users in a deactivated state. To activate it customer must call on the number 1800 103 4015 (toll-free). Alternately customer can activate the card by any one of the following ways:

• Through ATM PIN to activate the card on an HSBC ATM
• Via any PIN based transaction

Do note that, PIN is sent to the user via SMS within 3 working days from the date of card issuance. Therefore, HSBC credit card PIN generation is not required on receiving the credit card.

• Visit an HSBC ATM machine & insert the credit card
• Enter the PIN
• Select PIN Services
• Then select Change PIN

• Do use the random date method, here the date should not be related to you in any way
• Use part of the number of any contact number saved on the phone. It will be helpful if you select a person that is at least not directly related to the card holder

• Do not leave it unattended ever. Make sure to cut the magnetic strip or chip of old cards before throwing them away
• Never save the PIN or write it down anywhere on any electronic devices or on any piece of paper
• Never share the PIN with anyone
• Ensure that the security terms of the merchant sites are proper before providing a PIN for online transactions
• During any confusion, suspicious, be in touch with HSBC Bank’s branch
