How to Activate Axis Bank Credit Card

Here is the step by step process to generate PIN through Axis NetBanking.

1. Visit Axis Bank’s website by clicking here
2. Login to Axis Netbanking with your login credentials
3. In the Menu option go to ‘Accounts’ and click on ‘My Credit Cards’
4. Then choose ‘More Services’ option and tap on ‘Credit Card PIN Change’
5. Confirm by clicking on Go
6. Enter the new PIN then tap on Next
7. For PIN generation a NETSECURE code will be sent to your registered mobile number
8. Enter the NETSECURE code and Confirm the activation

Customers can use this method if they have Axis Bank’s mobile app downloaded and have an Axis Bank net banking account. The steps are:

1. Log into your Axis Bank Mobile app
2. Select ‘Banking’ off the submenu, and then click on ‘Services’
3. Now, select ‘Credit Card’ and there tap on ‘Set/Reset PIN’
4. An OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to the mobile number registered with the bank
5. Enter this OTP and proceed ahead
6. Now, enter the desired four digits PIN
7. This has to be validated with your MPIN (Mobile Banking Personal Identification Number)
8. A confirmation message on a successful change of PIN will be displayed letting the customer know that the PIN has successfully changed

There are two ways generate axis bank credit card PIN using an ATM

• First-time users that need to generate OTP:

1. Insert your Axis Bank credit card
2. Select ‘Set PIN’
3. Click on ‘generate OTP’
4. Enter the required details: Date of birth, Card expiry, and registered Mobile number
5. Type in the received OTP
6. On the next screen set up the new PIN then reconfirm the PIN
7. A confirmation message will be sent to the customer’s registered mobile number

• For users who have generated their OTP but have not generated their PIN follow these steps:

1. Select ‘Set PIN’ option
2. Now select ‘Set PIN having an OTP’
3. Enter the OTP
4. Now enter the New PIN and reconfirm the same
5. A confirmation message will be received on the registered mobile number

Is it possible to generate this OTP before the transaction?
It is possible to do so. A prior generation of the OTP can be done through SMS. From your registered mobile number send a short code [PREOTP (last four digits of your card number)] to 5676798.

I want to generate PIN for an add-on credit card, how should I go about it?
Follow the above steps to generate the PIN for add-on card. The details of the primary card holder should be given and not that of the add-on card holder.

Can we generate Axis Bank credit card through any ATM?
Axis Bank credit card PIN can be generated through Axis Bank ATMs only.

I am unable to receive an OTP on my registered mobile number, can I use another number?
Unfortunately, that can’t be done. For security and authenticity reasons registered details alone are used for banking purposes. You can change the registered mobile number by visiting the branch, through Net Banking, or customer care service.

Will every site have an option of OTP/Secure pay password that I could enter for authentication?
No, you are asked to enter the OTP/ Secure pay password only for sites that support VISA/MasterCard credit cards for online payments and other transaction and supports VBV (Verified by Visa) or SC (MasterCard Secure Code) authentication protocols.  However, certain international transactions do not require OTP.

Is it necessary to have Axis NetBanking login details to generate PIN?
This depends on the medium you use to generate the PIN. In case of ATM or SMS PIN generation, Net banking details are not required; whereas, Mobile Banking and Axis Netbanking do require the login details to register with the facility.
