Vijaya Bank was established on 23^rd October 1931 by Shri A.B. Shetty and other farmers in Mangalore, Karnataka which aimed to promote savings and banking habit among the people of the district of DakshinKannad. It became a scheduled bank in 1958 and was nationalized on 15^th April 1980. As of today, the bank is operating under a network of about 1627 branches and 1388 ATMs
