It has been made compulsory for all the income-earning individuals and business entities to link PAN with all OBC Bank accounts. The PAN card is issued by the Income Tax Department of India after the submission of necessary documents. OBC is one of the major public sector banks in India offering wide range of products and services for its account holders. Its products include- Insurance, Internet Banking, Loans, Debit Cards & Credit Cards and many more.
To open new account in Oriental Bank of Commerce, an applicant should furnish his PAN card to get it further processed. If existing account holders fail to link PAN with the operational accounts, they will have to fill the Form 60/61 with all the details and stating the reason of not having the card yet. Link PAN Card with Oriental Bank of Commerce Account Online
Account holders can link their PAN card with the OBC bank online without giving any visits to the bank following a very simple step mentioned below:
Step 1: Click on login page of internet banking using this link: https://www.obconline.co.in/
Step 2: Fill your user name and password and click on login.
Step 3: Once you login to your account you can see the “Service Request” option at the left hand side click on it.
Step 4: Now select on “PAN Card Updation”
Step 5: Now enter your PAN card number, Date of birth (DOB) on PAN card and your registered email ID & click on submit now
Step 6: Now it will take 2 working days to update the status and your PAN card will be updated with your bank account.
Bank officials may take around 48 hours to link PAN with the operational account. After the completion of the process, the account holder will get confirmation email/message from the bank that your account has been linked with PAN. If an account holder fails to do so, they may face consequences of paying tax on the interest earned on deposits.
Link PAN Card with Oriental Bank of Commerce Account Offline
If any customer faces any problem in getting the bank account linked with PAN online, he can go for offline mode to get it done. For this, you need to follow the process mentioned below:
Step 1: Visit the OBC branch where you have opened your account
Step 2: Ask for PAN updation form (KYC) and fill up the details required without making any mistakes or overwriting in the form
Step 3: After filling up the details, submit the form to the bank official
Step 4: You will receive an update of getting your PAN linked with the bank account after the verification and other process is over
You may have to submit the following documents as proof-
- Self-attested copy of your PAN Card
- A letter addressing the Branch Manager to get PAN linked with the OBC account
To gain government subsidies and easy filing of tax returns, one should link the PAN card with all bank accounts as early as possible. Also, account holders will not be entitled to receive the TDS certificate from the bank if accounts are not linked with PAN.
