Chaitanya Godavari Grameena bank was founded in the year 2006 after the merger of Godavari Grameen Bank and Chaitanya Grameena Bank. It’s a regional rural bank sponsored by Andhra Bank and is headquartered in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The bank was established with core intent to drive prosperity in the life of rural population, especially farmers located in the east and west Godavari region of the state.
Through its leveraged technological solutions such as Kisan Credit cards, ATM cards, NEFT, debit cards and mobile alerts, the bank caters to the daily financial needs of rural population in this area. The bank has been making profits since its inception and holds a strong net worth of INR 260 Crores. Through its ultra-small branch concept, CGGB has implemented its long term commitment of reaching the maximum possible extent and achieve its objective of financial inclusion. Currently, projects are being implemented in more than 181 villages of the east-west Godavari district.
At each ultra small branch, the bank has designated one bank officer who frequently visits the nearby village carrying a laptop. This doorstep solution allows the bank to clear loans or new account applications in the least possible time. Apart from the new application, the bank officer handles all concerns and queries of the account holders in their village itself. All other bank formalities such as verification, documents formalities and field inspections are done instantly.
