Axis Bank Magnus Credit Card Overall Rating: ★★★★
|Other Lifestyle Benefits
Prior to the devaluation in September 2023, Axis Magnus created quite a buzz, with some experts even labelling it as the best premium credit card in India. The major highlight was its 25,000 bonus reward points feature as the monthly spend condition to avail it was Rs. 1 Lakh, a number quite easily achievable by high-spenders. A high earning rate and monthly milestone benefit, coupled with the remarkable redemption ratio of 5:4 (for air miles and hotel loyalty conversion), made Magnus outshine established premium cards like HDFC Infinia and Diners Club Black. However, with the monthly milestone discontinued and the redemption rate revised to 5:2, its title of the ‘best premium credit card in India’ is again in question, especially when compared with similar cards.

Having said that, if looked upon individually, Axis Magnus still holds good value especially for high-spenders. Those who spend beyond Rs. 1.5 Lakh in a month on non-travel categories can accumulate considerable points. Though the air mile/hotel conversion rate has been lowered, it is still the best redemption option on this card. Hence, frequent travellers who do not have any other travel credit card would be able to maximize its features. Check how to maximize savings on travel bookings via Axis Bank Magnus Credit Card.
Moreover, since the travel and reward benefits on this card were previously quite significant, benefits on other lifestyle categories like health, movies, dining, etc. took a backseat. But now since the card may not be offering the best value on travel, it would be safe to change its label from ‘premium travel credit card’ to a ‘premium credit card for all round benefits’.
