The Kotak IndiGo Ka-ching 6E Rewards XL Credit Card is a co-branded card for frequent travellers who prefer flying via IndiGo airlines. The card is a premium variant of the other Kotak bank card—Kotak IndiGo 6E Rewards Credit Card. It offers exclusive travel benefits such as lounge access, priority meals, baggage assistance, a 6% reward on IndiGo spends, and an IndiGo airline ticket worth Rs. 3,000 as a welcome benefit. In addition to that, it also provides cross-category benefits across dining, entertainment, and grocery. That way, the card somehow caters to the all-rounder daily needs of customers despite being a co-branded travel credit card.
Having said that, overall this card is a good fit only for IndiGo loyalists, and other extended benefits on the card cannot be a deciding factor, especially when the redemption also circles back to IndiGo flights. Plus, the reward rate offered for non-IndiGo expenses is very basic and not that great if you are looking for highly rewarding cards across multiple categories. Users seeking all-round benefits can definitely find better options at a fee of Rs. 1,500. This credit card is definitely a good option for you if you are keenly looking for travel benefits on IndiGo airline, as that way you can justify the annual fee. However, it would have been even better if the co-branded activation benefits were offered every year as a milestone or renewal benefit.

Similar to Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank also offers co-branded cards with IndiGo airlines, as 6E Rewards and premium ‘6E Rewards XL’ variants. The base and premium variants from both issuers offer largely identical benefits. To choose between these cards, you can either go with your preferred issuer—HDFC or Kotak—or you can make a value-back comparison. For instance, in comparison to the 6E Rewards XL IndiGo HDFC Bank Credit Card, the Kotak IndiGo XL offers a slightly higher return of up to 6% in comparison to the 5% offered by HDFC. However, HDFC’s premium IndiGo variant has an edge due to a comparatively lower forex markup fee of 2.5%. Thus, you must decide what benefits suit your spend types better.
