Axis Bank SELECT is a reward-focused credit card offering accelerated (2X) value-back on retail (offline) spends, along with 10 EDGE reward points per Rs. 200 spent across other eligible categories. Retail shopping includes everyday essentials like departmental stores, groceries, apparel, accessories, and more—making it a suitable option for day-to-day spends. Cardholders can also save a significant amount through direct discount at top brands like BigBasket and Swiggy, along with up to 12 international lounge visits annually and a Complimentary Priority Pass membership.
While Axis SELECT Credit Card comes with an impressive earning rate, its reward redemption value is relatively low, with 1 Reward Point (RP) = Rs. 0.20 or 10:1 ratio when converting to an airline or hotel loyalty program. Despite a low redemption rate, the card offers good overall value at a price point of Rs. 3,000, particularly for consumers seeking a mix of rewards, discounts, and travel perks.

While the reward earning rate on Axis SELECT Credit Card is excellent, especially for offline spends (where most cards offer lower rates), a low redemption value (Rs. 0.25) brings down the overall value-back. The card also offers point-to-mile conversion facility but the redemption again stands quite low at 5:1 for select airlines and hotels and 10:1 for others. Even if you choose a brand offering higher redemption value, 20,000 reward points would be worth 4,000 air miles. Moreover, partners are divided into Group A and Group B with capping of 1 Lakh points and 4 Lakh points in a year, respectively, which further restricts redemption flexibility.

Here is a detailed comparison of how much you can save using Axis SELECT, HDFC Regalia & SBI Card Prime:
| Credit Card | Spend Value to Earn 20,000 Reward Points4 | Redemption Value of 20,000 Reward Points |
|---|---|---|
| Axis SELECT | Rs. 4 Lakh |
|
| HDFC Regalia Gold | Rs. 7.5 Lakh |
|
| SBI Card Prime | Rs. 10 Lakh |
|
As seen from the table above, Axis SELECT allows you to accumulate a high number of reward points at a comparatively lower spend value but the redemption value is not as good as HDFC Regalia Gold. Both Axis and HDFC cards give good value on air mile conversion as compared to product purchase via catalogue. If you are a high spender and want to avail travel benefits in exchange of reward points, HDFC Regalia could be a better pick as the redemption value is strong.

Axis Bank SELECT Credit Card is a highly rewarding option for those who prefer store visits, as they can earn double the rewards on retail shopping. The good part is that the accelerated rewards on retail spends are not limited to one or more categories, as cardholders can earn high rewards across all offline transactions. In addition to this, the card also covers more ground with the discount offer on Swiggy and BigBasket, as these are common everyday spend categories.
Axis SELECT is an all-rounder credit card offering benefits across multiple categories, such as offline spends, travel, grocery, dining and more. Cardholders can earn accelerated rewards on retails spends along with discount on Swiggy and BigBasket. In addition, Axis SELECT also offers 6 complimentary international lounge visits and 6 more on reaching annual spends of Rs. 3 Lakh, which is again a great advantage considering the card’s annual fee. What the card lacks on is a good redemption value- catalogue redemption as well as air mile conversion. So, it is easier for the user to accumulate substantial reward points but the value back against those rewards could have been better.
