RTGS is an electronic mode of transferring funds. The full form of RTGS is Real Time Gross Settlement, which means the money is transferred in gross amount on a real time basis. According to the Reserve Bank of India guidelines, the money must be transferred within 30 minutes of initiation of RTGS. Canara Bank makes RTGS a simple and fast process. The remitter has to fill just a single Canara Bank RTGS form and deposit the amount.

 

RTGS system is meant only for high volume transactions; the minimum amount which can be transferred via this electronic money transfer process is Rs 2 lakhs. The Canara Bank has stated no upper ceiling for RTGS transactions. Account holders can perform this transaction by either filling the form online (through net banking or mobile banking) or by filling the hard copy of Canara Bank RTGS form. Senders can also download the form from the bank website and get a print of the same. The online form highlights any error in red color.

How to Fill Canara Bank RTGS Form Online

If the RTGS transaction is carried online, then the sender should follow the below steps to fill the e-form:

  • Sign in with the registered email address
  • Fill the Canara Bank RTGS form online and save it
  • E-sign the document after filling all details and rectifying the errors
  • After saving, download the form and save as a pdf

How to Fill Canara Bank RTGS Form

In order to proceed with the RTGS transaction, the sender must provide with the following information. All these details must be filled in the Canara Bank RTGS form.

  • Amount to be sent
  • Sender’s account number if the money needs to be debited from the bank account
  • Cheque number if the amount is paid via cheque
  • Beneficiary name and mobile number
  • Beneficiary bank name, IFSC code and account number
  • Sender to receiver information (optional)

Important Points Related to Canara Bank RTGS

  • Minimum amount of funds transfer under this facility is Rs. 2,00,000
  • Canara Bank settles the RTGS money transfer on all working days
  • Fund transfer via RTGS can be done on a round-the-clock basis i.e. 24x7x365
  • Once the money is deposited in the beneficiary’s account, Canara Bank receives a message from Reserve Bank of India; the bank in turn sends the payment successful message to the sender
  • If the sender thinks that the payment is delayed (crossed 30 minutes) he/ she can complain to the bank customer care or might even contact the grievance cell of RBI directly
  • The NEFT customer facilitation center of Canara Bank also investigates the complaints which arise out of RTGS transactions

RTGS Form Terms and Conditions

Canara Bank RTGS form has some terms and conditions mentioned on it. If the details mentioned in the form are as per the conditions, then only the RTGS transaction will be processed. These terms are

  • If the beneficiary bank is also RTGS enabled, then only the transaction will be processed
  • The RTGS transaction will not be processed on holidays and weekends
  • If the amount and beneficiary details are filled incorrectly, Canara Bank will not be liable for the consequences

The sender is provided with an acknowledgement receipt after the Canara Bank RTGS form and money is deposited.
