YES Bank FREO credit card is a co-branded card launched by YES Bank in collaboration with FREO, a digital banking platform that offers financial solutions like digital savings account, pay later options, credit lines and more. This is an entry level credit card offered in two variants Visa and Rupay, wherein VISA is a plastic credit card and Rupay is a virtual credit card allowing users to make UPI payments using their credit card.
The Visa variant of YES Bank FREO credit card comes with zero joining fees and charges Rs. 399 from second year onwards. Customers can get the renewal fee waived off if they spend Rs. 1,00,000 in the subsequent year. On the other hand, the Rupay version of this card which comes bundled with the Visa variant is lifetime free.
While the visa variant offers 1% flat cashback across the spends with no capping and 1% fuel surcharge waiver across all fuel pumps, the Rupay version offers 4 reward points per Rs. 200 spent on UPI transactions above Rs. 2000 and 2 rewards points per Rs. 200 spent online. If we compare it with other cashback cards available in the market, the cashback rate is extremely low and it will be difficult for customers to maximize the benefits on their spends.
