On 15th October 2020, ICICI Bank added new features in its WhatsApp Banking services using which customers can create fixed deposits, pay utility bills, and access trading finance details instantly. The primary objective of launching these services on WhatsApp is to make banking even more convenient and accessible for the customers. This service is available for retail, NRI, corporate and MSME customers.
ICICI Bank WhatsApp banking furnishes starting Fixed Deposits, paying bills for electricity, gas, postpaid mobile bill payment, etc. for Retail customers. On the other hand, corporate customers can check trade finance services like customer ID, Import Export Code (IE), limiting the availability of all credit facilities, the status of pending inward remittances and history of inward remittances immediately. It should be noted that accessing trade finance services is available only for those corporate customers who have enabled trade services on their current accounts.
Here is how you can register to ICICI’s Whatsapp banking services instantly-
Step 1: Add the ICICI Bank’s verified Whatsapp profile number 86400 86400 to your contacts
Step 2: Send ‘Hi’ to this mobile number from your registered mobile number
Step 3: You will receive a revert with the list of services available
Step 4: Each service will have a specific keyword. You can send the respective keyword for the service which you want to avail. The service will be displayed instantly
Step 1: Type ‘FD’ or ‘Fixed Deposit’ and send it to ICICI Bank’s verified Whatsapp number 86400 86400
Step 2: Now, enter the amount between Rs.10,000 to Rs.1 crore, which you want to deposit and also the tenure
Step 3: You will see interest rates displayed for different tenures and also the maturity amount
ICICI Bank’s Whatsapp banking allows the customers to pay utility bills for electricity, cooking gas, and postpaid mobile. Here are the steps that follow:
Step 1: Type the keyword like <Pay Bills>, <Electricity>, <Gas>, or <Mobile postpaid>, whichever you wish to proceed with
Step 2: For an electricity bill payment, you have to provide the electricity board and consumer number. For a postpaid mobile bill payment, you have to confirm the phone number and the network. Likewise, for the cooking gas bill payment, you need to confirm the gas provider and the customer ID
Step 3: Enter the amount which is required to be paid and confirm to proceed with the payment
Whatsapp banking by ICICI is launched after keeping the customer’s convenience in mind. Also, approximately two million users have already adopted banking services on Whatsapp in a short span of six months. These services will allow the retail as well as corporate account holders to bank seamlessly via Whatsapp, without visiting a bank branch.
