SBI Credit Card Limit

Types of SBI Credit Card Limit

When you get your SBI Credit Card, you can see three types of credit limits mentioned on your Credit Card Welcome Document- Total Limit, Available Limit and Cash Limit.

SBI Card Total Credit Limit

This is the maximum amount that you can spend on your credit card. Every time you make a purchase, the limit will be deducted by the amount of purchase and it will be replenished as and when you pay your bills.

SBI Card Available Credit Limit

This is the amount that is available to you for usage at a given point of time. For example, if the total credit limit on your SBI Card is Rs. 1 Lakh and you make a purchase of Rs. 20,000, then the available credit limit after the purchase will be Rs. 80,000.

SBI Card Cash Limit

SBI Card also allows you to withdraw cash using your credit card. However, you can only withdraw an amount up to your cash limit. Usually, cash limit is 10% of the total credit limit.

Our Advice Credit card cash withdrawal is one of the costliest forms of borrowing as it attracts interest charges from the day of withdrawal until the sum is paid off in full. With SBI credit card interest rates going as high as 40.2% p.a., cash withdrawals will add to your bills significantly. Hence, it is not recommended to withdraw cash from your credit card; you should only see it as the last resort.
