HDFC Regalia Gold is an upgraded version of HDFC Regalia Credit Card. While the annual fee is the same for both cards, the Gold Variant has a more extensive set of features. A few years ago, Regalia had similar features but was eventually down-valued.
Here is a comparison between the two cards:
HDFC Regalia | HDFC Regalia Gold | |
---|---|---|
Annual Fee | Rs. 2,500 | Rs. 2,500 |
Reward Rate | 4 reward points per Rs. 150 spent across all categories | 4 reward points per Rs. 150 spent across all categories 5X reward points on Myntra, Marks and Spencer, Nykaa and Reliance Digital |
Redemption Options | Redeem on SmartBuy for Flights and Hotel Booking, Airmiles, Products and vouchers and Cashback | In addition to SmartBuy redemption options like Regalia, an Exclusive Gold Catalogue is available for redemption against premium brands |
Lounge Access | Up to 8 complimentary domestic and 6 complimentary international lounge visits in a year | 12 complimentary domestic and 6 complimentary international airport lounge visits for primary and add-on cardholder |
Milestone Benefits | 10,000 bonus reward points on spending Rs. 5 Lakh & 5,000 additional bonus rewards on spending Rs. 8 Lakh | Quarterly Milestone:
Spend Rs. 1.5 Lakh and get Rs. 1,500 voucher from Myntra, Marriott, M&S or Reliance Digital Annual Milestone: Rs. 5,000 flight voucher on spending Rs. 5 Lakh in a year & additional Rs. 5,000 flight voucher on spending Rs. 7.5 Lakh in a year |
Renewal Fee Waiver | On spending Rs. 3 Lakh in the preceding year | On spending Rs. 4 Lakh in the preceding year |
Which is better?
If you have a Regalia or Regalia First variant, we would suggest you to move to Gold because:
- Though the base reward rate is same, HDFC Regalia Gold offers accelerated earnings on certain brands along with the option to redeem the accumulated rewards against Exclusive Gold Catalogue, which has some good premium brands. Lounge access benefits are also better on Gold.
- While HDFC Regalia offers bonus reward points on reaching spending milestones, cardholders can avail flight vouchers up to Rs. 10,000 (by spending Rs 50,000 less) with the Regalia Gold Credit Card, that should be more beneficial
However, if you rarely travel and prefer RPs as milestone benefits, you may stick to the Regalia card.

Should I move to HDFC regalia gold from HDFC millenium card
HDFC Regalia Gold can be a good option if you seek all-round benefit on your everyday spends, primarily around travel, shopping, and partnered brands like Myntra, Nykka, etc. It is definitely a better option than HDFC Millennia, in terms of lounge access, milestone benefits, redemption options and overall reward rate. However, if most of your spends are spread across the partnered brands on Millennia and you don’t want to pay a high annual fee, sticking to HDFC Millennia would be better.
