Investment Objective
ICICI Prudential Multi-Asset Fund seeks to generate capital appreciation for investors by investing primarily in equity and equity related securities and generate income by allocating funds across other asset classes.
Investment Strategies
- The fund focuses on multi asset investment, i.e., allocating at least 10% of the funds each in three or more asset classes.
- The scheme maintains net equity exposure in the range of 10% to 80%. However, under normal market conditions, it aims to maintain its gross equity exposure between 65% and 75%.
- It also allocates 10–35% of its assets to debt instruments, 10–30% to gold and silver through ETFs/ETCDs and up to 0–10% in REITs, InvITs and preference shares.
- It is a highly diversified scheme and invests across market capitalizations and various asset classes to generate alpha for the long term.
- It follows a counter cyclical approach i.e. taking investment decisions that go against the prevailing market trend or economic cycle. Therefore, it does not follow value or a growth investment style.
- The scheme may have sectoral deviation from the weights of its benchmark index.
- It may invest in covered call options to enhance portfolio returns.
- It invests in those companies that have a better risk-return trade off as compared to debt and arbitrage positions.
