Investment Objective
HSBC Multi Cap Fund is to generate long-term capital appreciation from an actively managed portfolio of equity and equity related instruments across market capitalization.
Investment Strategy
- The fund allocates at least 25% of its assets each in large-cap, mid-cap and small-cap companies and a flexible allocation of up to 25% to equity or debt securities and money market instruments. The emphasis is on companies that are dominant players in their respective businesses.
- The fund follows both top-down and a bottom-up approach for stock picking. Top-down approach includes factors like macroeconomic factors, strengths and opportunities in the industry and economic/business cycle. Bottom-up approach is followed to identify small and mid cap companies considering strong corporate governance, financial strength, competent management and scalable opportunities.
- The fund follows an in-house equity investment process called SAPM, which encompasses the Selection of ideas, Analysis of companies and Portfolio Creation and Monitoring.
- The fund follows its investment mandate with active management, research-based stock selection and robust risk management.
- The fund focuses on companies that are dominant players in their respective businesses/sectors.
