HDFC Bank has announced revisions in the charges applicable on certain transactions like online skill-based gaming, wallet loading, utility bill payments, rent, fuel, education, and insurance. While these are often excluded from the rewards or cashback program, from 1st July 2025, a 1% transaction charge will be imposed on these spends exceeding a specified threshold, making such transactions costlier for consumers.
If you are an existing HDFC credit cardholder, it is essential to be aware of these revisions so that you can plan your card usage in a better way and avoid unexpected penalties. In addition to some limited card-specific updates, most of these apply to all HDFC credit cards. Read on for details.
