Registration Process for New Entrepreneurs
(For the new entrepreneurs who are not yet registered as MSME)
Follow the steps mentioned below if you have not registered as MSME before:
Step 1: Click on the link i.e. https://udyamregistration.gov.in/UdyamRegistration.aspx
Step 2: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number
Step 3: Enter the ‘Name of Entrepreneur’ as per Aadhaar Card
Step 4: Read all the instructions carefully and click on the tick mark for declaration
Step 5: Once done, click on the ‘Validate and Generate OTP’ button
Step 6: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number for verification
Step 7: Enter the One Time Password and click on the ‘Validate’ button
Step 8: Once done, your Aadhaar Card will be successfully verified and you will have to enter the other relevant details such as:
And tick mark the declaration and click on ‘Validate’ button
Step 9: Your PAN will be verified. You need to mention more relevant details such as:
Step 10: In case , the entrepreneur does not have a valid PAN Card, then he/she has to enter the ‘Name of the Entrepreneur’
Step 11: Enter the mobile number and email address
Step 12: Enter the social category, gender, specially abled (yes/no), name of the enterprise, name of the plant or the unit
Step 13: Enter the location of Plant(s)
Step 14: Enter the official address of Enterprise
Step 15: You also need to enter the previous EM-II/UAM registration number, the status of enterprise, bank details, major activity of unit, National Industrial Classification (NIC) Code for Activities, number of persons employed in the enterprise
Step 16: Enter the investment in plant and machinery, turnover and other important details as mentioned in the image below
Step 17: Once done, tick mark the declaration and click on the ‘Submit and Get final OTP’ button
Step 18: Once again enter the OTP on your registered mobile number. Your Udyam registration will be completed
Note: PAN and GSTIN are mandatory for Udyam Registration from 01.04.2021. It is advised to apply for PAN and GSTIN immediately and update the same on this website by 31.03.2021, to avoid suspension of Udyam Registration.
Steps to Migrate to Udyam (Re-Register)
(For those who are already registered with EM-II or Udyog Aadhaar)
Follow the steps mentioned below to re-register for Udyam Registration:
Step 1: Visit the online Udyam Registration portal i.e. https://eudyogaadhaar.org/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjaW4mfDygwMVlNoWBR3kFA23EAAYASAAEgIzuvD_BwE
Step 2: Click on the ‘You can Migrate to Udyam (Re-Register) here’ option
Step 3: You will be redirected to a new page, enter your Udyog Aadhaar Number and select the OTP options such as OTP on Mobile as filled in UAM or OTP on email as filled in UAM
Step 4: Click on the ‘Validate and Generate OTP’ button
Step 5: Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile and then you can
Step 6: Your Udyog Aadhaar Number will be validated
Note: Once your Udyog Aadhaar Number will be successfully validated, it will take some time to complete the process. You need to visit the new Udyog Registration Portal after a few days.
Online Method for Udyog Aadhar Correction
Follow the steps mentioned below for Udyog Aadhar update:
Step 1: Visit the official portal of Udyog Aadhaar
Step 2: Click on “Update details” option
Step 3: You will find two options, you need to click on the ‘Udyog Aadhar Update’
Step 4: A new page will appear on the screen for MSME Udyog Aadhar Update
Step 4: Enter your 12-digit UAM number for Udyog Aadhar Registration Update
Step 5: Click on OTP options i.e. OTP as on Mobile number or OTP as on email address
Step 6: Enter the verification code from the box given box
Step 7: Click on the ‘Validate & generate OTP’ option
Step 8: Enter the OTP received on the respective option selected
Step 9: Once verified, necessary changes of MSMEe udyog Aadhaar can be done
Udyog Aadhar Update Fee
As per the official website of Udyog Aadhaar, there are no charges for update udyog aadhaar registration certificate. However, only the form of registration for MSMEs in India is charged, in view of complaints received regarding the fee charged by various agencies for facilitating the process of registration and update Udyog Aadhar.
How to Download MSME Certificate Online?
Follow the steps mentioned below for Udyog Aadhar download certificate through UAM number:

Update of Udyam Registration
In case of some errors or need to update some details in the Udyam Registration form, you can update it from the new Udyam Registration Portal. However, your mobile number must be registered with Aadhaar to update details as it requires one time password (OTP) for verification.
How to Print of Udyam Registration
If you want to print your Udyam Registration Certificate, Udyam Registration application, Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM), Udyog Aadhaar Application, you can use the new registration portal of Udyam with the help of validating one time password which will be sent to your registered mobile number.

Classification of Enterprise under Udyam Registration
The classification of enterprises under Udyam Registration is done on the basis of investment and the turn over as mentioned below:

Calculation of Investment in Plant and Machinery/Equipment
The calculation of Investment in Plant and Machinery or Equipment is done in the following manner:
- The calculation is linked to the Income Tax Return (ITR) of the previous years filed under the Income Tax Act, 1961
- If no prior ITR is available (i.e. in case of a new enterprise), the investment will be based on self-declaration of the promoter of the enterprise and this relaxation shall last up to 31st March of the financial year in which the first ITR will be filed
- The term ‘Plant and Machinery/ Equipment’ of the enterprise, will be considered the same as assigned to the plant and machinery in the Income Tax Rules, 1962 framed under the Income Tax Act, 1961 and which will also consist of all the tangible assets (except for land and building, furniture and fittings)
- The purchase value (i.e. the invoice) of the plant and machinery/equipment purchased first hand or second hand will be taken into account excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST), on self-disclosure basis, if the enterprise is a new one without any ITR
- The value of specific items in the Explanation I to sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Act must not be included in the calculation of the amount of investment in plant and machinery
Calculation of Turnover
The calculation of turnover is done as follows:
- Exports of goods or services or both, must not be included when the calculation of the turnover of any enterprise whether micro, small or medium, for the purposes of classification is done
- The information as regards turnover and exports turnover for an enterprise must be linked to the Income Tax Act or the Central Goods and Services Act (CGST Act) and the GSTIN
- The figures related to turnover of such enterprise which do not have a valid PAN will be taken into consideration on the basis of self-declaration for a period up to 31st March 2021 and thereafter, PAN and GSTIN will also be mandatory
