Axis Bank continues to apply annual capping on the redemption of partner miles. However, the bank follows a unique approach for consumers holding multiple credit cards. In most cases, the annual capping is determined based on the highest-value credit card held by the consumer, rather than the individual limits for each card.
Example 1: Single Card Holder
If a consumer has Axis Magnus Credit Card, the total annual capping is 5,00,000 EDGE Reward Points per Customer ID. Out of this, up to 1,00,000 points can be transferred to Group A partners, while the remaining 4,00,000 points can be transferred to Group B partners within a year.
Example 2: Multiple Reward Points Cards
If a consumer holds multiple EDGE Reward Points-based credit cards, the highest eligible card determines the applicable capping and partner transfer rules.
For example, if a consumer has three credit cards: Burgundy Private, Magnus, and Reserve, all offering value-back through EDGE Reward Points, the applicable limits will be based on the highest-value card, i.e., Burgundy Private. In this case, the cardholder can transfer up to 15,00,000 EDGE Reward Points annually across all cards combined.
Example 3: Multiple EDGE Miles Cards
If a consumer holds multiple EDGE Miles-based credit cards, the annual capping is again determined by the highest eligible card among them.
For example, if a consumer holds Axis Atlas and Axis Olympus, the applicable annual capping for miles transfer will be 7,50,000 EDGE Miles across all cards combined, as per the higher-value card (Olympus).
Example 4: Mixed Currency Cards
If a consumer holds cards with different reward currencies, one offering EDGE Reward Points and another offering EDGE Miles, the capping is applied separately for each currency type.
For example, if a customer holds Reserve (EDGE Reward Points) and Atlas (EDGE Miles), the annual limits are calculated independently:
- Reserve: 5,00,000 EDGE Reward Points
- Atlas: 1,50,000 EDGE Miles
In this case, the combined annual capping will be 6,50,000 points.
