5% cashback on your purchases
Standard Chartered Manhattan Platinum is popular for its cashback offers. You get to earn 5% cashback on all your Grocery, Supermarket and Departmental store spends. The card is basically a supermarket specific credit card and hence would be best suited for users seeking for cashback on supermarket spends.
However the cashback is applicable on minimum transactions of Rs. 1,000 or more. Moreover, maximum cashback of Rs. 500 is allowed every month (capped at Rs. 150 per transaction).
3X Reward Points on your transaction
On all other expenses, you will earn 3x reward points on every Rs.150 spent. However, earlier the card had a better reward rate and offered 5x reward points but have now reduced it to 3x only. The reward rate is comparatively low and hence if you are someone looking to earn rewards on your transactions, this card might not be the right choice for you.

Drawbacks of SCB Manhattan Platinum credit card
There are a couple of cards that perhaps offer more or less the same benefits but with added features. With Standard Chartered Manhattan Platinum, we noticed some basic features were not covered. Some of them are:
- No fuel benefits, no fuel surcharge waiver with this card
- Low reward rate
- No airport lounge access
- No entertainment or specific travel benefits
Bottom Line
Standard Chartered Manhattan Platinum is perhaps a good choice if one is looking for cashback benefits only. Other than that, there aren’t many features that make this one stand out from the other credit cards. You should go for this one only if your purpose remains to earn cashback on your day-to-day expenditure on supermarkets. However, our alternate suggestion to this would be Standard Chartered Digismart credit card which, according to us, is an all rounder and a better choice for your daily shopping.
