1. HDFC Bank Diners Club Black Credit Card– A Card with Great Overall Value
- Annual Fee- Rs.10,000
- Minimum Income for Salaried / Self-Employed- Rs.1.75 lakh p.m.
HDFC Diners Club Black Credit Card is certainly one of the best super-premium cards in the market offering extraordinary benefits across multiple categories. One of the key highlights that make the card stand out is its default reward rate of 3.33% which means that on spending Rs. 10,000 on any category, you will get 333 reward points. The flexibility to use these points against flight and hotel bookings on SmartBuy Platform, Air Mile conversion, and items from the rewards catalogue makes them even more valuable. Moreover, the points are valid for 3 years so you will have enough time to accumulate good points before you choose to redeem. The card holds great value for travelers with its unlimited lounge access worldwide for both primary and add-on cardholders (which is quite a rare feature) and a low forex mark-up of 1.99% only. Other lifestyle benefits across shopping, dining, golf, fitness, etc. are plenty.
Who should get this card?
HDFC Diners Club Black Credit Card is great for high-spenders as the rewards rate is excellent. Also, the free membership renewal is linked to spending milestones, so in order to avail them, you will have to spend a considerable amount. Being a super-premium card, its fee is quite high but is clearly compensated by the wide range of benefits it offers. So, if you are sure that you can make the most of its overall benefits, you must get this card. |

2. HDFC Bank Infinia Credit Card– Invite-only Card for HNIs; Good All-Round Benefits
- Annual Fee- Rs.10,000
- Eligibility- Invite Only
To keep it simple, HDFC Infinia Credit Card is similar to HDFC Diners Club Black Credit Card in a lot of aspects. The reward rate stands the same at 3.33%, there is unlimited lounge access for primary and add-on cardholders and forex markup is 2%. Infinia wins over DC Black in terms of rewards, offering 10X points on shopping and travel booking made through SmartBuy and 2X rewards on dining.
However, there are certain aspects where Infinia falls short such as free memberships and the flexibility of reward redemption. Though you can book flight tickets directly through Smartbuy and redeem the points, the ability to transfer points to air miles of your choice is not offered. All-in-all, Infinia is a good super-premium card but certain privileges could have been better, at least at par with HDFC Diners Club Black.
Is this card for you?
HDFC Infinia is an invite-only card. So, if you get the invite, you must first dwell on your spending preferences and see whether you would be able to make the most of its benefits. Infinia is an elite circle of HDFC customers, so you will definitely get certain added privileges for the same but that should not be the only reason to get this card. Ask yourself whether you are ready to pay Rs. 10,000 annual fee for the given set of benefits and then make the decision on accepting or rejecting the invite. |
