Banks in India are shut on public holidays and other festive days depending upon the state where the specific branch of the bank operates. RBI (Reserve Bank of India) releases a holiday list every year. Each and every bank has to adhere to the schedule provided by RBI. Banks are free to provide additional holidays as well. Statehood days and state holidays are also provided in banks. It is worth mentioning that the bank holiday on Saturday is observed on every second and fourth Saturday of the month.
