The Government has made it mandatory for all Airtel mobile subscribers to get their mobile numbers re-verified by linking it with their Aadhaar number. A person having multiple Airtel mobile connections, be it prepaid or postpaid, will have to link all of his sim card connections with Aadhaar if they want to keep his connections active. Steps to Linking Aadhaar with Airtel Number through OTP
The government has asked mobile companies to provide the facility of linking mobile number with Aadhar through OTP as well. However, only those customers will be able to avail this facility, who have already registered their mobile numbers with UIDAI. Those consumers who have not mentioned/updated their mobile numbers in Aadhar will not be able to avail this facility and they will have to visit the Airtel store or retailer for re-verification. Step 1: Call the toll-free number 14546
Step 2: Choose whether you are an Indian or an NRI
Step 3: Press 1 and give your consent to re-verify the mobile number using Aadhaar
Step 4: Enter your Aadhaar number and confirm it by pressing 1
Step 5: An OTP is sent to your registered mobile number
Step 6: Give consent to your operator to pick your name, photo and DOB from UIDAI
Step 7: IVR reads out the last 4 digits of your mobile number
Step 8: If correct, enter the OTP received

Steps to Link Airtel Mobile Number with Aadhaar Offline
Airtel customers have to follow these simple steps to verify their Airtel mobile number with Aadhaar:
Step 1: Visit the nearest Airtel store.
Step 2: Carry a self-attested copy of your Aadhaar card as well
Step 3: Provide your mobile number to the executive
Step 4: Airtel will send an OTP to your mobile number
Step 5: Submit your biometric data, i.e. thumb impression.
Step 6: You will get a confirmation message within 24 hours.
Step 7: Reply with ‘Y’ to complete the process.
Aadhaar and Airtel Linking Through IVR
The central government has also asked telecom operators to make provisions for their customers to link Aadhaar through Interactive Voice Response (IVR) method. Through this method, the customer can link his mobile number with Aadhaar by following these steps:

Prepaid customers have to visit the nearest Airtel retailer whereas postpaid consumers will have to visit the Airtel store for verification. To make it easier for senior citizens and specially-abled people, the central government has also asked companies to make provisions to conduct this re-verification process by visiting their home to make the process easier and convenient for all.
